Stratford’s Farmer's Market starts its summer season on Monday June 20.  Stop by Paradise Green on Mondays from 2-6pm.  

On Sunday June 26, Walrus + Carpenter in Bridgeport will celebrate its 3-year anniversary with an epic outdoor party called “Walrus Fest!”  They’ll close down Jetland Street and take it over with food, drinks, games, live music and prizes. Activities include a pie eating contest, a bouncy house, a BBQ, face painting and more.  

Healthy foods meet spa time and relaxation on June 26 & 27.  The Spa at Norwich Inn presents “Food for Thought: The Fun of Healthy Eating.”  The two-day, one-night event includes presentations from well-being experts, healthy recipes and tips, spa treatments, and more. 

Are you interested in learning cheese basicsCheese 101, presented by the Fairfield Greenwich Cheese Company, is a great way to do so.  On Tuesday June 21, the Fairfield location invites you to enjoy a plate of fresh cheeses while learning all about types of cheeses, storing, and serving.  It costs $50 per person.  

Mezon in Danbury has launched a new happy hour, aptly called “Happy Offerings for Happier Times.”  Join them from 4-6pm Monday-Friday for $1 oysters, $2 pinchos, select $5 cocktails, and $49 punch bowls.

The Faith Middleton Booz Schmooze Martini Competition will unfold on Thursday June 23 at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center in Nantucket, CT.  Guests can sample delicious martinis, vote for their favorites, and munch on tasty appetizers.  Participants include Rooster Company, Ordinary, Bear’s Smoke House, Elm City Social, and an array of others.  Tickets start at $30.  

INDIA New Canaan and New Canaan Wine Merchants are teaming up to present a Rosé Wine Dinner on Wednesday June 22.  The evening begins at 7pm with a sparkling rosé and small bites, followed by a sit down four-course meal.  Chef Prasad Chirnomula’s delicious cuisine will be presented alongside a white wine, two rosés, and a red wine.  Our own wine expert Emma Doody (also associated with New Canaan Wine Merchants) will guide you through the pairings and illustrate what makes an excellent rosé in a fun and informative way.  Tickets are $75 per person.  Seating is limited.  Purchase your tickets here. 

The Hartford Public Library has an EGG-cellent program on June 22.  “Put An Egg On It” will show guests how to use this simple, yet versatile, ingredient to make several amazing recipes.  Make crispy fried olive oil egg on gruyere toast, carbonara, spinach and egg pizzetta, and avocado baked eggs.  Tickets are $45 per person. 

On Tuesday June 21, Chef Pat Pascarella will teach you how to make some of his legendary meatballs at Bar Sugo.  The class is limited to 10 people, so you’ll have a chance to learn in a small environment.  It costs $50 per person and starts at 6:30pm.  Join Bar Sugo again on Sunday June 26 from 1-5pm for a Pig Roast with local beer and stand-up comedy. It is hosted by Ken Tuccio of the Welcome to Connecticut Podcast.

The Energize Connecticut Center, located in North Haven, wants to show us how to reduce our carbon footprint and be sustainable every day.  Their first ever “Energize Me” event will take place on June 23.  The free event includes cooking demonstrations and tastings with Basta Trattoria and Claire’s Corner Copia; nutrition tips by Thyme & Season Natural Market, a beginner gardening seminar with Winterberry Gardens, and a food composting tutorial with Blue Earth Compost. 

Little Barn Westport has opened its patio for the summer.  Plus, they’ve added corn hole boards!

Rothbard Ale + Larder has partnered up with Westport Bike Rentals to encourage people to get outside and enjoy the summer.  Rothbard is now a featured stop along the Westport Railroad Station-Compo Beach-Downtown Loop.

The downtown Milford Farmers' Market begins on June 25.  Check them out on Saturdays from 9am-1pm at 58 River Street.
