Drive down to The Lumberyard in Georgetown, CT. The huge menu sounded delicious. I had to look it over twice. The kid’s menu was the usual cheeseburger, grilled cheese, hot dogs and chicken tenders, so I decided to choose something off their regular menu. My mind stopped spinning and I settled on the cheese-steak sandwich. The juicy meat chunks were cooked medium. (The waiter didn’t ask how I wanted it cooked). The chef did not put cheese sauce on the cheese-steak. Instead they melted the cheese, which was a mix of mild cheddar, sharp cheddar and mozzarella. I think the cheese sauce would have been a better taste and texture. There was a huge mound of fries on my plate and the waitress said “We don’t do small very well.” There were lots of onion...another burst of flavor. I ordered my cheese-steak without the mushrooms and peppers, because I personally don’t like that. My meal was well priced at $10.95 I took half of the sandwich home because it was so big. The Lumberyard is a great family restaurant. There are board games like Twister, Chutes and Ladders and even Scrabble for the kids to play at their tables. I give The Lumberyard 4 pickles.
