Festivities, known for their top notch special event catering & event planning, is using their business expertise to better the community in Fairfield County...and they need your help. Always wanted to throw a croquet party? Now you can both delight your guests and raise money to benefit EMERGE, a vital program that provides transitional and permanent housing along with mentoring and counseling to women and their children affected by domestic violence located in Stratford, CT. On Sunday, September 18 Festivities is asking Fairfield County residents to join them as a host/hostess for a unique and fun afternoon by hosting an afternoon of croquet, fun and libations. At the conclusion of the private events, all our guests will gather at a beautiful private estate in Southport for champagne, dessert and a croquet finale. We will have the opportunity to hear Donna Jackson, co-founder of Emerge, share her riveting story of how she overcame a personal story of domestic violence to become the force behind her work. Each guest will be asked to purchase a ticket to the event. 100% of the ticket price of $75.00 per person will go directly to the important work that Emerge does in creating safe homes for women and their children. If you are willing to host a croquet party please contact us at croquetfete@gmail.com. About Emerge HISTORY: Emerge was founded in November 1995 and is a non-profit organization. Our original mission was to provide only transitional services to survivors of domestic violence and their children after the crisis period. We recognized the need for longer term services so our mission has changed to reflect the addition of providing permanent, affordable housing where the families can live stable lives with support with personal issues, financial planning, and employment issues. Counseling is provided to both mothers and children. The women also participate in support groups. All services are provided in –house. Emerge has provided services to 31 women and 57 children, and the success rate is 97%. The families have been able to save $85,036.00 for discharge to permanent housing. Emerge has two full time staff members, the founders, Donna Jackson and Susan (need last name). Counseling is provided to the mothers and children by consultants, a psychiatric nurse, and a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. MISSION STATEMENT: The mission of Emerge is to inspire women and children, who are homeless survivors of domestic violence to transform their lives, by providing safe transitional and permanent housing and support services. VISION STATEMENT: Emerge envisions a world in which every home is safe, where violence does not occur and where each family has the opportunity to thrive. GOAL: to end the cycle of domestic violence The culinary and event planning teams at Festivities have been awarded “best caterer” and “best wedding venue” on the “Best of the Gold Coast” list published by Moffly Media, publishers of Greenwich, New Canaan, Westport, and Darien/Rowayton magazines.
