Small plates reach new heights at Vinted Wine Bar and Kitchen, where food is anything but secondary. Add 68 wines by the glass and you’re well on your way to finding that perfect pairing. Sister restaurant to The Federal in Agawam, Vinted burst onto the West Hartford dining scene in late 2012 when owners Ralph Santaniello and Michael Presnal launched their newest venture in Blueback Square. A classy vibe, inventive array of modern American tapas, and encyclopedic wine list leaves little, if anything, to be desired.
Menu:
A series of cleverly conceived tapas includes whimsical dishes like the McMuffin; with seared foie gras, truffled cheese, caramelized onions, and tender short rib, it’s about as far from a fast food breakfast as you can get. For lighter fare standouts, the bluefin tuna tartare is sublimely presented with smashed avocado, crispy shallots and soy ‘pearls’ with wasabi crackers. Whether snacking on artisan cheeses or diving into the rich, succulent veal cheeks with buttered crab, asparagus and creamy pancetta hollandaise, the upscale small plates menu is perfectly constructed for communal consumption – though you won’t want to share a thing.
Bar:
Sample a new sip or savor an old favorite in six, three and even one ounce pours, thanks to Vinted’s state-of-the-art WineStation system. Regardless of whether you opt for a $1.50 sample or $190 bottle, manager and sommelier Gary Evangelista will guide you to an impeccable pairing to match your palate and complement the flavors in your meal. Adding to 68 wines by the glass, Vinted also offers a selection of craft beers, dessert liquors, and several signature cocktails.
