Monday November 24, taste 16 wines from award winning producers with Golden View Firenze in Greenwich.  The evening also includes a 4 course dinner.  It lasts from 6:45-9:15pm and costs $145 per person.  Reservations are required.  

Usher in the holidays with Sunset Meadow Vineyards in Goshen, CT on Monday November 24 with omplimentary samples and appetizers while you visit the tasting room and gift shop.

Wednesday November 26, Half Full holds its famous Open House.  Receive a cup and stamp for $15 and enjoy drinks from the open taps.  The brewery also has corn hole and life-sized Jenga. 5-8pm.  

Darien Social sandwiches Thanksgiving with 2 nights of live music.  On Wednesday November 26, listen to Tangled Vines and on Friday November 28 enjoy the Fry Daddys.  Both bands go on at 9pm. 

Several restaurants are open for Thanksgiving and offering special menus in honor of the occasion. 

Friday, November 28, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Santa Claus Comes to Stew Leonard’s of Newington, CT.  He’ll arrive on a Newington Fire Department truck while Wow the Cow, Cynthia the Chick, and Daphne the Duck greet guests.  This event is free.  

Saturday November 29, the Dave Kardas Band comes to Dinosaur BBQ in Stamford at 9pm.  Learn more about the blues meets jazz fusion band here: http://www.davekardasband.com/ 

Also on the 29th, the CT Beer Trail hold its “2nd Annual Turkey Tour: Brewery Bus Tour.”  A 30 passenger bus will take you to Stubborn Beauty Brewing (Middletown), Relic Brewing (Plainville), Shebeen Brewing (Wolcott), plus an additional brewery and food stop.  $85 per person, reservations required. 

Saturday, Nov 29th, Barcelona Stamford invites you to Paella 101.  Chef Scott will demonstrate how to prepare the delicious, authentic Spanish dish.  To make a reservation, please call 203.348.4800.  $45 per person, plus tax and gratuity. 

This week, Mama’s Boy brings Night Market to their Sunday brunch.  They playing the best of Chaka Kahn, Barry White, Earth Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder and more.  1-4pm.

Looking ahead…

On Thursday December 4, come out for the YWCA Darien/Norwalk’s 6th annual “Cookies, Cocktails and a Cause Ladies Night.”  It features a cookie swap as well as contest for best recipe.  It goes from 7:30-10pm.
