Tuesday May 6, Cask Republic in Stamford is hosting a 5C Bluepoint beer dinner.  Cask has invited all 5 of their head chef's from Cask Republic and Ginger Man to lead the evening's culinary journey. Each will throw down a dish of their choice to be paired with a hand-picked Cask Ale from Blue Point Brewery.

Wednesday May 7 is “Mommie Food Fair” at Pellicci’s in Stamford.  Fairfield County Dishcrawl, FC Moms Blog, and City Moms Blog have partnered together for the National Event. The Mommy Foodie Fairs take place in 16 cities across the United States. From a mocktail competition to a create your own chip dip contest, this is an opportunity for moms to meet and mingle.  A number of fun brands will be represented. “Wonderful Wednesdays” returns to New Canaan Wine Merchants on Wednesday May 7.  A portion of all sales from the evening will go to benefit Meals on Wheels.

Wednesday is also a class on “Wines of 2010 Vintage” at Harry’s in Fairfield.  We regularly discuss the concept of vintage-dated wines and their corresponding vintage quality in many of our classes, and of course we regularly taste wines of all vintages with our students. .French Bordeaux, California Cabernet, Tuscan Chianti, Spanish Rioja, and several others regions will be tasted in order to illustrate the wines from a top quality vintage. $35 one session. 7-9pm. 

The 7th is also “Cheers to Cava” wine dinner at Barcelona in New Haven. Champagne is one of the world’s most profound and expensive wines. However, Spain has its own popular sparkling wine created in the exact same style as its French counterpart, called Cava. The dinner will show off their favorites from several Spanish regions and their uncanny ability to pair well with even the heaviest and most flavorful dishes 7:00pm, $45 per person.  

Thursday May 8, it's a Wine Glass Painting Party!!  Sunset Meadow Vineyards and the Art Truck team up for a night of creativity, friends, fun and wine.  6:00 - 7:30.  $35 per person includes all instruction, materials and a Glass of SMV Wine.  Sign up today, seating is limited!

Friday May 9, enjoy a Brewfest on the Beach in New London, CT. It will include beer, chili, and fun on the boardwalk! Tickets start at $25. 

For fun for the whole family, visit Stew Leonard’s in Newington on Friday May 9. From 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., it’s a Toddler Cooking Class- All Things VEGGIE!! $15 per Child (Parent must Attend Class). Ages 2-5. Make veggie nuggets, including a spinach chickpea nugget and a broccoli cauliflower nugget. Kids love these healthy treats!   

It’s a Wine Tasting to benefit St. Peter/St. Francis School in Torrington! On Friday May 10, 2014 from 6:30-9:30 pm, it’s a little bit country and a whole lot of fun! Enjoy hors d'oeuvres by Chatterley's, music by The Sidekick Band and the museum exhibit in one setting! Taste wines and beers from all over the world! Sponsored by Nicky G's Wine and Spirits. Tickets can be purchased by calling SPSF School at 860-489-4177 or by visiting Nicky G's Wine and Spirits, 833 Winsted Rd. Torrington, CT. Cost: $30 beforehand or $35 at the door.  

Saturday May 10 is theRising Pint Beerfest” in East Hartford, CT. Enjoy food, music, and craft beer from 1-5pm. 

Also on Saturday, Nicholas Roberts Fine Wines will hold its “Spring Awakening to Benefit Turning Wine Into Water at Ironworks SONO. This year's 2nd annual Spring Awakening Tasting will feature wines from Michael Skurnik Wines, Missing Link Wine Company, Serge Dore Selections, 55 Degrees, and more. There is no cost for the event, but an "at will" donation is requested upon entry. The suggested donation is $25. You can pre-register your donation by emailing Nicholas Roberts
