Fairfield Cheese Company Celebrates 5 Years

CTbites Team

Five years ago Laura Downey and Chris Palumbo combined their love for cheese and their entrepreneurial spirit and created Fairfield Cheese Company, a bustling cheese shop located in a food loving Connecticut suburb. To celebrate five years of artisanal and farmstead cheese, charcuterie and fine foods, and their popular cheese school, Fairfield Cheese Company will mark their anniversary with a calendar of special events during the month of May. View the complete list of events below:

Friday, May 9th 7-10pm: Cheese Dinner with the Cellars at Jasper Hill.

Join us for a five course dinner imagined and prepared by co-owner Chris Palumbo and featuring cheeses from our friends at the Cellars at Jasper Hill. Zoe Brickley from Jasper Hill will be joining us. Each course will spotlight a delicious and local cheese aged at Jasper Hill in Greensboro, VT and will be paired with a carefully selected wine. Reservations required.

Saturday, May 10th 12pm-3pm: Cheese case takeover with Zoe Brickley from The Cellars at Jasper Hill

Come meet Zoe from Jasper Hill, sample some of their award winning VT cheeses and have her answer your burning cheese questions.

Friday, May 16th 7-9pm: Customer Appreciation Cheese & Wine Party

Join us for some cheese and wine and allow us to toast to you. Without our loyal and supportive community we wouldn’t be here. No reservations necessary.

Saturday, May 17th 12-3pm: Vermont Creamery Tasting.

Fans of cheeses like Bonne Bouche & Coupole won’t want to miss this tasting. Vermont Creamery produces these aged goat cheeses using only the best local goat’s milk. 1-4pm Chris will be serving up some cheeseburger sliders from our friends at Saugatuck Craft Butchery, Meg our cow mascot will be on hand, and you can enter to win a Fairfield Cheese Company gift certificate.

“We feel incredibly lucky and very grateful for all the community support our little shop has received,” said Chris. Fairfield Cheese Company continues to grow, supplying cheese to premiere restaurants throughout Fairfield County, as well as staying committed to sourcing the best products for their customers. “We love what Fairfield Cheese Company has become, and being able to educate people to the art of cheese is extremely gratifying,” beams Laura.
