Bobby Flay’s Bar Americain at Mohegan Sun now offers a three-course pre-fixe menu for $38 from Sunday-Thursday. You can also add sommelier wine pairings for $18.
New Canaan Taste Tours begin Tuesday July 15th with three of Elm Street’s favorite restaurants; elm, Picador, and Chef Luis before finishing the evening at South End. These special will continue for four weeks offering special menus each Tuesday and Wednesday with either a 6:30 or 7:30 start time.
Dinosaur BBQ continues its Wednesday night “Rock n Roasts,” a party on the Dino Patio featuring a whole, smoked hog with a sound track of live rock'n'roll. This week, enjoy music by Jeff Tuohy.

Wednesday July 16 is another Rare Beer Night at Half Full Brewery in Stamford. The evening will feature 3-5 test batches and attendees will receive full pints of each beer. Tasty food pairings will also be provided. It takes place the third Wednesday of each month. $30pp, 40 person limit.
Harry’s of Fairfield wants you to learn about (and taste!) wines from California. They offer this edition of their wine class on Wednesday July 16th from 7pm-9pm. $35pp.

The Newington Branch of Stew Leonard’s continues its children’s cooking classes with a “Slider Roundup.” On Thursday, July 17 kids can mix up some great chicken and beef slider combinations, learn to make a delicious corn salad, and finish up with fruity kabobs from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. $25pp, ages 6+.
Connecticut’s Bravest will compete in the Fourth Annual Fairway’s Firefighters Food Face-Off at Fairway Market in Stamford. This grilling “throw down” will pit firefighters from Cos Cob Fire Department, Norton Heights Fire Department, Westport Firefighters, and Belltown Fire Department against one another to determine whose barbecue is best. Event takes place at 12 noon on Saturday, July 19th. Music, food & giveaways!

Farther up the line, Milford has its own farmers’ market on Saturdays from 9-1.
It’s an “Ice Cream, Blueberry & Bluegrass Bash” at Fort Hill Farms in Thompson, CT. On Sunday July 20, head to the farm to celebrate the blueberry harvest and National Ice Cream Day with live bluegrass music, tours of the gardens, and wagon rides through the farm fields.
