Ingredients Restaurant Cheese Festival Wine Tasting 5th Annual Connecticut Cheese & Wine Festival 2014 CTbites Team September 23, 2014 The 5th annual Connecticut Cheese & Wine Festival, a celebration of local artisan made foods & wines will take place at Hopkins Vineyard, 25 Hopkins Rd in New Preston, on Saturday, October 18, 2014, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event will feature locally made handcrafted cheeses, boutique wines and specialty foods and crafts from some of the Northeast’s top producers. This varied celebration, with the special wine and food pairings, promises to be the artisan food event of the year.Festival goers will have the opportunity to try samples of the delicious foods and wines, and purchase items made by Hopkins Vineyard, Jones Winery, Walker Road Vineyard and Sunset Meadow Vineyards, along with award winning cheeses, specialty foods and crafts from Cato Corner Farm, Beltane Farm, Artisan Made-Northeast, Thistle Hill Farm, Blue Ledge Farm, Woodcock Farm, Green Mountain Blue Cheese, Middlebury Baking Company (the owner is a noted chocolatier), Wave Hill Breads, Savor Cookies, Carrot Top Kitchen, Tilden Sea Food, Percy Thomson Meadows Farm, Alba Flower Apiaries Honey, Bella Alpacas Farm, Woolen It Be Nice and more. Free samples will be available.Upon arrival festival guests will be given a tasting menu where many of the festival’s foods and wines will be paired together. Certified Sommelier Sally Camm will give a presentation on food and wine pairing and will demonstrate how to put together a cheese plate complete with condiments and wine pairings for home entertaining.
