Great Cakes & Cupcakes at Forever Sweet Bakery

Forever Sweet Bakery is celebrating its third anniversary as one of the most creative bakeries for cupcakes, cake pops, and special occasion themed cakes. Located off the beaten path in a strip mall on New Canaan Avenue in Norwalk, CTbites visited on opening day several years ago and over the last three years the bakery has received numerous accolades including the 2014 & 2015 Best of the Gold Coast Cupcakes. CTbites recently returned to Forever Sweet to confirm the original impression and taste the expanded offerings of cupcakes that owners Sky and Frances Mercede have created.

Over the years, their cakes have been featured at many political victory parties and charity events including the Connecticut Food Bank, the Westport Little League and the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Sky and Frances believe in giving back to the community as often as possible. 

The front of the bakery has several display cases showcasing a wide assortment of cupcakes, from tiramisu to red velvet, and we enjoyed several different combinations. The cake on each was moist and the frosting not too sweet, a really good balance. For customers looking for a cupcake tower for the party or event, Forever Sweet has over a dozen varieties to choose from.

Personalized cakes are their specialty and Sky was proud to walk me through photos of many of the previous requests...from traditional engagement and wedding cakes, sports themes, cartoons, plus an interesting request recently. As Sky told CTbites, “A customer was looking for an elaborate vintage Mercedes from the 30’s decorated in buttercream. When we discussed the idea, we decided that fondant would be the best icing. We were so excited about the prospect of creating this cake. Hours were involved cutting each labor-intensive detail, down to the Mercedes logo. We are very proud of the result.”

From cupcakes to traditional and intricate, special event cakes, Forever Sweet Bakery continues to create delicious cupcakes and special occasion cakes and the latest visit confirmed its receipt of numerous accolades.
