Tis the season for Farmer’s Markets and they are taking place all over Connecticut.  Find one near you.

Have you ever heard of “Moink balls?” Prepare to be amazed… they are meatballs wrapped in bacon!  On Mondays, Bear’s Smokehouse BBQ in Hartford sells them for 50 cents each. 

Newly opened Brother Jimmy’s BBQ, located in Stamford, has announced that kids eat free Monday-Saturday until 7pm (with purchase of an adult platter and southern specialty).

June 10th, join Cask Republic Stamford for “What the Funk,” a night featuring beers with extreme tasting profiles.  Starting at 5pm they’ll serve “funky” beers from bitter to sour to barnyard!

Fairfield Cheese Company offers “Perfect Pairings: Cheese & Wine” at its Fairfield Location on Tuesday, June 9 and at its Greenwich Location Thursday, June 11. They’ll pair the perfect cheese with its perfect wine match.  7-9pm, $45 per person.

Hartford’s Costa del Sol is offering “Tapas Tuesdays” from 5:30pm-9pm.  They’ll feature special selections of these Spanish small plates such as sausage in Roja red wine sauce and croquettes stuffed with Serrano ham and beef. 

​Enjoy an evening of “Prosecco, Dinner & Dancing” on Wednesday June 10 at Golden View Firenze in Greenwich. The night consists of a 3-course dinner hosted by David Noto of Altaneve and Theresa Rogers of Horseneck Wines followed by dancing and cocktails.  Please arrive at  6:15pm. Taste of Mystic returns to Mystic, CT from June 12-14. 20-30 local restaurants serve tasty bites in Olde Mistick Village.  There will be live music performances and entertainment throughout the day. Admission is free. Food tickets ($1 each) can be purchased in advance or in booths at the event.

Whole Foods Market will host a “Local Supplier Summit” in Cheshire, CT on Thursday June 11.  Local can learn about the company and how they might get their products into Whole Foods Market. Click for more details and to register.

The first event in the “Beers at the Beach” series takes place at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk on Thursday June 11. The event kicks off at 6:30pm and will feature the beers from Beer'd Brewing Company in Stonington, a brewery that hardly ever has their beers available in Fairfield County. Tickets for this event are only $35, which includes open bar and a food ticket good for a hamburger, veggie burger or 2 hot dogs. 

On Friday June 12, enjoy a Lobster Bake at Jonathan Edwards Winery in North Stonington, CT!  Enjoy a full lobster dinner with great views, family-style seating, and music by the band Sugar (dancing encouraged!)  Pre-purchase your tickets early; seating is limited.  The event lasts from 6:30-9:30pm and costs $80 per person.  Please call 860-535-0202 to reserve.

Anna Liffey’s in New Haven wants you to learn all about whiskey… for a good cause!  On Saturday June 13, they’re offering a class that involves tasting of 6 flights of whiskies as well as light food pairings.  You can choose from one of 2 sessions: 6-7pm or 8:30-9:30pm.  Limited spaces available. The Hindinger Farm Strawberry Festival will be held on Saturday June 13 from 11am-5pm.  The day will include hayrides, family activities, ice cream, food, music… and of strawberries!  They are located at 835 Dunbar Hill Road, Hamden, CT 06514.

Center Street Public House in Darien is delighted to announce its first ever “Yappy Hour" event on Sunday June 14.  From 3-6pm on June 14, enjoy Chateau La Paws wines, complimentary appetizers and enter to win prizes… all while meeting furry friends looking to be adopted! Also on Sunday, Dinosaur BBQ in Stamford and 95.9 are hosting a Classic Car Show.  From 9am-1pm, check out classic cars in the parking lot and stop into the restaurant for some delicious BBQ.  Proceeds benefit the Food bank of Fairfield County. 

Killam & Bassette Farmstead in South Glastonbury, CT is pleased to debut "Fresh From the Farm" Tastings on Sundays in June.
