Serena & Lily Celebrates New Design Shop in Westport with Three Days of Food, Giveaways and Activities (sponsored)

The perfect dinner party needs a beautiful presentation and there are few companies who can inspire a gorgeous table setting like California-based home and lifestyle brand, Serena & Lily. That’s why we were thrilled to hear the retailer will be opening its fourth retail location right here in Fairfield County on April 29th at the newly restored Kemper-Gunn House, 35 Elm Street, Westport.

Serena & Lily is celebrating the Grand Opening with three days of food, giveaways and activities from Friday, April 29th through Sunday May 1st. Coffee and breakfast treats like brioche donuts, mini quiches and croissants from local favorite SoNo Bakery will be served each morning. Greenwich-based Italian gelato maker La Fenice will serve fresh-made gelato each afternoon in classic Italian flavors like cioccolato, stracciatella, limone sorbetto and caffe.

On Friday, April 29th Westport First Selectman Jim Marpe and Serena & Lily co-founders Serena Dugan and Lily Kanter invite the public to join at 9:30am for a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to officially welcome the company to its new location. The first 50 visitors to the new Design Shop will receive a $100 Gift Card to spend on anything in the store. In addition, Serena & Lily signature tote bags will be handed out to all store visitors throughout the weekend. Balloons and face painting will be available for kids in the top-level Kidshop area.

As if you need another reason to shop the beautiful décor, bedding and furniture, Serena & Lily will donate 15% of all sales from opening weekend to Near & Far Aid to support its efforts in fighting poverty throughout Fairfield County.

The Serena & Lily Design Shop will utilize three stories of the classic Kemper-Gunn House, showing how the product can be interpreted in a traditional home setting, while maintaining the fresh, coastal aesthetic Serena & Lily is known for. The company’s breadth of product from bedding, bath, furniture, rugs, lighting, décor, nursery and art will be on display in real dining, living and bedroom settings.

A major differentiator of the Serena & Lily Design Shop from other retailers is that it provides both the inspiration and the tools to create your own design project, including swatches of signature patterns (all designed by co-founder Serena Dugan!) and expert advice from Serena & Lily Design Advisors.

If you’re unfamiliar with the building, the Kemper-Gunn House was built in 1889 and is an historic landmark in the town of Westport. The house was slated for demolition to make room for a new development, but after years of campaigning from local preservationists, the house was picked up and moved in November 2014 to 35 Elm Street, where it sits today. We can’t wait to see how it’s been transformed!
