The Cook and the Bear in Hartford presents a West Coast v. East Coast Whiskey Dinner on Tuesday January 30 at 6:30pm.  The evening includes a cocktail reception, a family-style meal, and side-by-side whiskey pairings.  It costs $90, plus tax and gratuity, and tickets are available for purchase online. 

The Spotted Horse Tavern in Westport now offers Meatless Mondays!

Learn all about Riesling at The Whelk in Westport on Tuesday January 30 at 6:30pm.  Winemaker on Von Winning, Andreas Hutwohl, will be there to guide you through the delicious dinner and wine pairings.  It costs $150 per person, plus tax and tip, and reservations can be made by calling 203-557-0902.

Flanders Fish Market & Restaurant in East Lyme invites you to an installation of their Food & Wine Series on Tuesday January 30.  Chef Olivia Formica will prepare and explain a 5 course meal, this time inspired by the cuisine in Seattle, WA, and serve it alongside complementary wines provided by Divine Wine Emporium.  Tickets are $45 per person or $80 per couple. 

Zohara Mediterranean Kitchen hosts a Massaya Wine Dinner on Tuesday January 30.  Sami Goshen, winemaker and owner of Massaya Vinyards in Lebanon, will be there to walk you through the wines, which will be paired with custom dishes from the chef.  Tickets are $75.   

On Wednesday January 31, Chef Prasad Chirnomula, Chef Owner of of INDIA Restaurant in West Hartford, will guide diners through a 5-course tasting menu featuring many of the restaurant's diverse dishes.  The cost is $55 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and includes a complimentary beverage along with the meal.  

Harry’s Wine & Liquor Market in Fairfield will offer “Wine 101: Intro to Wine Tasting” on Wednesday January 31.  The night is the first of two sessions, with the second half of the class taking place on February 7.  The classes run from 7-9pm and $70 includes both classes. 

Which is better: beer or wine?  These Guys Brewing Company in Norwich wants you to find out with a Beer vs. Wine Dinner on Wednesday January 31 from 6-9pm.  Chef Dan Salesses will create a 5-course menu while husband and wife owners, Ray and Rebecca Alberts, compete to come up with the best pairings for each dish.  It costs $95 per person and tickets are available online. 

It’s not quite Valentine’s Day, but 2Wives Brick Oven in New London invites you to an Evening of Wine and Chocolate on Wednesday January 31.  They’ll serve their over the top chocolate creations with champagne and 4 other wines. On Wednesday January 31, Bruculino Restaurant in South Norwalk hosts “A Trip to Tuscany Wine Dinner” including wines like Vermentino, Grenache, Chianti, Rosso di Montalcino, and Brunello di Montalcino and dishes such as Crostini with Pate, Tuscan Pasta e Fagioli, Calamari Inzimino, and Grilled Rabbit .  It costs $100 per person, or $90 in advance. 

Pies & Pints in Middlebury will have a Beer Dinner with Back East Brewing Company on Wednesday January 31 at 6:15pm.  $65 per person includes tax and tip. 

Trumbull Kitchen in Hartford will hold a Whiskey and Food Pairing Dinner featuring Woodford Reserve Distillery on Friday February 2.  It begins with a reception at 6:30pm and continues with a four course seated dinner.  It costs $85 per person, plus tax and gratuity.  Call (860) 493-7412 for reservations.

Kids can visit Stew Leonard’s in Newington for a Warm and Cozy Comfort Treats Culinary Class on Friday February 2 from 6-8pm.  Learn to make pigs in a blanket, loaded baked potatoes, homemade mac and cheese, and gooey chocolate chip cookies.  The class costs $30 and is open to kids ages 6-12. 

If you missed The Magic of Wild Yeast Sourdough, an adult baking workshop with Wave Hill Breads, in January, they are holding it again on Saturday February 3 from 3:30-5:30pm.  The class will cover care and feeding of sourdough starters, as well as shaping, scoring, and steam baking of traditional sourdough batards. You will create your own starter to take home at the conclusion of the class.  It costs $85 per person.

February 3 and 4 is Family Weekend at Barcade in New Haven.  From 12-5pm, there will be a special kids menu… and plenty of arcade games! 

Still Hill Brewery in Rocky Hill is turning 2!  Celebrate with them on Saturday February 3 from 12-6pm at their 2nd Anniversary Bash featuring like music, food trucks, hearty appetizers, new releases, and more.  Tickets range from $20-$50 and are available online. 

Bloodroot’s 2018 calendar is now for sale.  It features 23 new recipes Filled with 23 new recipes including vegan desserts like, Banana Cake, Rhubarb Almond Cake, Spiced Lemon Cake, and Madeleine Cookies.  It costs $18, plus shipping and sales tax where applicable.  Bloodroot has also added new menu items like Peanut-mustard green soup, fresh cornbread, and Haitian maiz moulin avec pois served with fried plantain, avocado, and collard greens.

B.GOOD is searching for its 2018 Customer of the Year.
