Features Fundraiser Catering Chef Talk Festivities Celebrations Passes It On In Love (sponsored post) Jessica Ryan May 16, 2018 Photo: Kimberly Miller For more than three decades, and under the leadership of Roe Chlala and Bill Kaliff, Festivities has been an integral part of the community, catering milestone celebrations from birthdays and weddings, to corporate events and galas. This award-winning catering and event design company has launched their newest venture through their foundation. Located on the Festivities Campus, “Pass on the Love” is a retail store offering a curated collection of gently used, quality, design, décor and tabletop items that have been donated and are available for purchase for your next event or for your personal use. “Buy it in love, pass it on in love” is the store motto. Proceeds from all sales are to be donated to agencies that provide services supporting safe and healthy homes. The first two recipient agencies are The Center for Family Justice and the Domestic Violence Program at the Greenwich YWCA.“We started our foundation with the mission to support safe and healthy homes which we believe are the basis of all celebrations. We also wanted to create an initiative that would gather our community to create sustainable event practices. We are partnering with Food Rescue and Repeat Roses to really think about sustainability in a different way.” This initiative is so important to us that we made it one of our main navigation tabs on our website (festivitiesevents.com).Building out the store has been a work in progress starting with a welcoming mural donated by local artist, Elizabeth Marks and a community wall with lettering donated by Melissa Grounds of Mod Creations. “Our starting inventory has generously been donated by local floral designers and private collections, and now we invite you to think of us when hosting an event, redecorating your home or moving.” Items from venues, private collections and industry partners are also welcome. The store is located at the Festivities campus at 2 Wilton Avenue in Norwalk (right next door to Cablevision). The monies earned from these sales will be reinvested back into the community to support those programs working directly with families in crisis, and their journey to safe and healthy homes. All donors will receive a tax deductible receipt and walk away with the knowledge that their purchase will benefit those who need it the most. No stranger to worthy causes, Festivities has been a longtime supporter of many local charities including, to name just a few, Make-a-Wish, the Connecticut Food Bank, PinkAid, Near & Far Aid, Rescue Me, Kids in Crisis, and The Center of Family Justice.“We are always looking to expand our growing community, and so we invite you to celebrate, donate, and support our project. Whether you have items to donate, are interested in volunteering and learning more about Pass on The Love, please do not hesitate to reach out to us,” Roe offers warmly. You can reach Roe, Bill and the rest of the team at (203) 847- 7774 or via email at Roe@festivitiesevents.com.
