Nibble: CT Food Events For Week of June 10-17

On June 12 from 6-9pm, Amis Trattoria + Chef Matt Storch of Match Burger Lobster are coming together on one grill to kick off the summer.  This collaborative cookout will take place in the courtyard of Amis trattoria in Westport and benefits the Westport Farmers Market.  A $75 ticket includes 6 courses, wine, and beer.  Tickets here. 

On Wednesday June 13, join BMW for a unique evening at South End featuring Chef Nick Martschenko. Put yourself in the driver’s seat of an all-new BMW followed by an inspired and interactive cocktail and culinary experience.  The event runs from 6-8:30pm.   

The first installation of the Waveny Summer Concert Series takes place on Wednesday June 13 at 4:30pm.  The Roger Sherman Inn will have special chef picnic boxes made especially for the event.   

Stamford is looking for the best bartender!  Stamford's Best Bartender Contest 2018 goes down Wednesday June 13 in Harbor Point.  In addition to voting for your favorite cocktails, you can enjoy summer dishes from the area’s best restaurants and chefs along with signature cocktails from the bartenders who are vying for first place.   

Bareburger is rewarding kids for good grades!  Kids can bring their report cards to the Stamford and Ridgefield locations and get 3 scoops of ice cream for an A, 2 for a B, and 1 for a C.

On June 14 and 15, catch the World Cup at Bar Rosso in Stamford.  They’ll have food and drink specials.

High Rollers Luxury Lanes & Lounge in Foxwoods has revamped their menu.  Big Night Entertainment Group Executive Chef Kevin Scott has elevated their offerings with selections like Kobe XL Burger and Rhode Island Calamari.   

Beer meets cheese on Thursday June 14 at Thimble Island Brewing Company.  From 6:30-7:30pm, they’ll host Calabro Cheese Corporation for five tasty pairings.  It is $20 per person.   

The Summer Solstice Food Truck Festival rolls into Hamden on June 15 from 4:30-9pm.

The 9th Annual Hartford Rib-off returns June 15 and 16.  Choose from delicious BBQ ribs, pulled pork, chicken, and various sides, all prepared by Taino Steakhouse.  There will also be cocktails from Tito’s, beer from Two Roads, and soft drinks from Coca-Cola.   

On June 16, GoodWorks Entertainment presents their second annual craft beer festival the EAST COAST BREW FESTIVAL.  It will take place from 2 PM until 5 PM at The Warehouse at Fairfield Theatre Company (70 Sanford Street in Fairfield, Connecticut).  The line-up includes Kent Falls Brewing Company, SingleCut Beersmiths, Connecticut Valley Brewing Company, Two Roads Brewing Company, and more.  There will also be live music and food trucks!  Tickets start at $45.  https://fairfieldtheatre.org/

Newly opened Bedford Hall in Stamford now serves brunch.  Join them Saturdays & Sundays from 10:30am to 3:00pm.  They even have Build-Your-Own Bloody Marys & Mimosas.

Ambler Farm’s farm stand is now open.  You can find them every Saturday through October. Plus, Ambler Farm arugula is also now available at the Village Market in Wilton and Peter's Market in Weston.

The Tasty Yolk debuted a new special for June!  The “Baa Baa Black Rock” breakfast sandwich features two eggs, seasoned lamb patty, sliced tomato, and tzatziki sauce on a griddle toasted English muffin.   

Flipside Burgers & Bar is making sure that pups can join you for your meal!  They now offer a Doggie Menu for the patio.
