Summer is here and nothing embodies summer in New England like the lobster roll!  Whether you prefer yours hot or cold, with or without butter, classic or with a twist, Connecticut restaurants and seafood shacks are featuring them on their menus.  Here is a list of 34+ places where you can get some lobstahhhh!!

  1. Lobstercraft, Fairfield: LobsterCraft opened its retail doors a few months ago in Fairfield. Parked next to the shop is their truck, and a tented, casual seating area, reminiscent of those great roadside eateries along the coast of Maine.
  2. Lenny and Joe’s Fish Tale, Westbrook: Lenny and Joe's serves buttered lobster in a grilled split top hotdog bun and with one side of your choosing, like onion rings.
  3. Knot Norms, Norwalk: n addition to the classic lobster roll, Knot Norms in Norwalk has rolls of all varieties! Join them for a Fried Chicken Roll, Roasted Oysters and a Crab Salad Roll, and more.
  4. Liv’s Shack, Old Saybrook: Liv’s Shack, located directly on the waterfront at the mouth of the Connecticut River, celebrates Summer in New England with hot buttered lobster rolls, fish tacos, hand-ground hamburgers and more.
  5. Boothbay Lobster Company, Stamford: Located in Stamford's Harbor Point. Dine on a grilled roll with 4 ½ ounces of glistening tail, claw and knuckle meat, lightly dressed in butter and garnished with a chive and parsley mix. If you want to butter it yourself, they can serve it that way too.
  6. Fresh Salt @ Saybrook Point Inn, Old Saybrook: Fresh kettle chips complement he warm buttered lobster on a grilled New England style roll at Fresh Salt in Old Saybrook.
  7. The Lazy Lobster, Milford: The Lazy Lobster in Milford's "The Lazy Lobster Roll" was voted one of the best in CT. Succulent lobster is piled high on a fresh baked and buttered roll.
  8. Fjord Fish Market, Cos Cob, New Canaan, Darien: For less than $20, Fjord Fish Market offers freshly cooked hot lobster rolls on their takeout menu. This fish market doesn’t offer any indoor or outdoor dining space; however, their lobster rolls are worth it to be enjoyed at home, on a curb, or in your car.
  9. Flanders Fish Market, East Lyme: The lobster roll at Flanders in East Lyme is simple, yet delicious. It’s served with a bit of butter and scallions with a toasted hot dog roll.
  10. Beach House, Greenwich, Norwalk: The Beach House Café has been a staple in Greenwich for many years and they just opened another location in Norwalk. You can find tasty lobster roll on the lunch menu.
  11. Lobster Landing, Clinton: The lobster rolls at Lobster Landing in Clinton use potato buns from Vermont to hold 4oz of lobster meat.
  12. L’escale, Greenwich: L'escale has beautiful views of the water and plenty of outdoor seating. Throw in their lobster roll and you have the quintessential New England experience.
  13. Johnny Ad’s Drive In, Old Saybrook: Johnny Ad's Drive In in Old Saybrook serves up a hot lobster roll on a hot dog bun with butter.
