CT Distilleries Share Their Favorite Holiday Cocktail Recipes

’Tis the season for merriment annnnd with merriment usually comes festive cocktails. Knowing that Connecticut has some amazing small-batch distilleries, we would like to highlight some delicious cocktails utilizing these spirits to get your party going and get your guests dancing like ol’ Mr. Fezziwig. Enjoy these jovial creations at your next party or pick up a bottle of these local spirits as a great gift for hostesses, friends or family members. Spread the local love, raise those glasses and enjoy the holidays. Cue the merriment!

The Litchfielder

Litchfield Distillery, based in Litchfield, CT,  “batches” gin and a variety of whiskey bourbons and vodkas using crops from local farmers.

Ingredients:

2 oz. Litchfield Distillery Straight Bourbon

.75 oz. Lemon Juice

.50 oz. Maple Syrup. We recommend Litchfield Distillery Bourbon-Barrel Maple Syrup

Garnish: Lemon Wheel

Method:

Combine all ingredients and shake for 15 seconds. Pour over ice into rocks glass.

Garnish with lemon wheel and seasonal herbs like mint, lavender or rosemary.

TUCK Toddy

100% Gluten-free gin, with notes of grapefruit, jasmine and juniper

Ingredients:

2oz TUCK gin

6oz Hot water

Earl Grey teabag

1/2 Tb. honey

2 slices fresh lemon

Sprig of rosemary (lightly slapped)

Method:

Dissolve the honey in a few teaspoons of the hot water. Next, add the remaining water and steep the tea to taste; avoid squeezing the tea bag. Add the TUCK gin and stir lightly. Finish by adding lemon slices and slapped rosemary. Enjoy!

Note: You can also play around with other teas such as green tea and herbal etc.

Maple Spiced Old Fashioned

Ingredients:

2oz Sono 1420 b.b.n/ sono 1420 rye

½ oz Sono 1420 maple bourbon barrel 

2 dashes of your preferred bitters 

Method:

Measure and stir above ingredients. Finish with orange peel and ignited cinnamon stick
