On Tuesday, March 20th, 11AM,  tickets will go on sale for the 2019 season of Outstanding In The Field. This year's CT dinners will take place at the Waldingfield Farm in Washington CT on September 9, and at The Hickories on September 11th & 12th.

Outstanding in the Field visits orchards, beaches and vineyards, where diners “stand” and sit for a spectacular meal…in a field. The other meaning of Outstanding in the Field is outstanding as in the best. CT Chefs for this season include: Daniel Sabia, Jeff Taibe, Craig Hutchinson, Alex Lishchynsky & Jason Sobocinski,

"Outstanding in the Field is a roving culinary adventure – literally a restaurant without walls." Their mission is to re-connect diners to the land and the origins of their food, and to honor the local farmers and food artisans who cultivate it.

Host Farmers: Patrick & Quincy Horan, Waldingfield Farm, Washington, CT
Guest Chefs: Craig Hutchinson, Alex Lishchynsky & Jason Sobocinski, Olmo, New Haven, CT

From our table at Waldingfield Farm, you can enjoy the rolling green hills of the Connecticut countryside and the lush produce from their vast rows of organic vegetables. In early September, that means summer squash, sweet corn and heirloom tomatoes. Waldingfield focuses on organic farming practices that enrich the soil and encourage biodiversity. Guest chefs Craig, Alex and Jason know how to turn this pristine produce into a memorable meal. They recently transformed their popular Caseus Fromagerie & Bistro into a fabulous new spot they named Olmo, with a communal table that seats 16 guests. Our table will be a bit bigger.

The Hickories
Wednesday, September 11 @ 3pm

$265
Host Farmer: Dina Brewster, The Hickories, Ridgefield, CT
Guest Chef: Daniel Sabia, Wood Fire Food, Westchester, NY

The Hickories has been a part of our Summer tour since 2013, and we love it so much that in most of those years, we’ve done two back-to-back dinners here. We love the peach trees, the trout pond, the flocks of humanely raised farm animals that yield meat as well as wool. Farmer Dina was a poet in a past life, which is fitting for someone who performs poetry every day in the fields of her family farm. She’ll tell us all about her latest projects during the farm tour, before we settle into a feast from guest chef Daniel Sabia, who will bring his wood-fired cooking expertise for his very first OITF event.

The Hickories
Wednesday, September 12 @ 3pm

$265
Host Farmer: Dina Brewster, The Hickories, Ridgefield, CT
Guest Chef: Jeff Taibe, Taproot, Bethel, CT

We’re setting our long table in the grasses at The Hickories for two events this year. Our second event features Chef Jeff Taibe in the field kitchen. Jeff is a close friend and supporter of The Hickories and has an impressive resume of restaurants all over the globe. His simple, seasonal approach to cooking is a perfect match for the 160 varieties of fruits and vegetables growing at the hands of Farmer Dina. We look forward to another afternoon of Dina’s passionate personality and eloquent descriptions on the farm tour.
