Nibble: Delicious CT Food Events for Week of April 22-29

Spiga Restaurant Group is hosting its own “Spiga Restaurant Group Week” from April 22-25.  They are celebrating spring with a 4-day restaurant week event featuring 3-course lunch and dinner prix fixe menus. The Spiga family includes Molto in Fairfield, Spiga in New Canaan & Lugano’s in Greenwich. Lunch $20.19, Dinner $30.19.

On Tuesday April 23, Union Kitchen presents a 4 course dinner featuring WhistlePig Rye Whiskey.  Tickets are $80.00 per person plus tax and gratuity and may be purchased online at UnionKitchen-ct.com/Events.

Pearl at Longshore Restaurant and Bar is excited to announce Gatsby’s Return 2019. This year’s event will be on Saturday, April 27 at 7pm. It will be a special evening of music, fashion, dancing, food and drink that captures the essence of the roaring 20’s for the Westport and Fairfield County citizens to share and enjoy. Westport Historical Society and Harbor Watch will be the event’s fundraising beneficiaries. 

On Thursday April 25, Thimble Island Brewing and Calabro Cheese are teaming up to give you a night filled with delicious beer paired with artisan cheese selections, all locally made in Connecticut. Five varieties of beer and cheese will be sampled along with pairing tips from our experts. 

Learn how to cook with the “Spring Bounty” on Thursday April 25 with Chop Shop Cooking.  The menu includes Asparagus with Poached Egg & Bacon Lardons, Wild Mushroom Toasts, Pan Seared Scallops with Chorizo & Corn, and Pasta with Ramp Pesto & Guanciale.

On Thursday April 25, Stonebridge in Milford hosts a VIP card party and & 2019 patio kickoff.  They’ll give away over 50 VIP cards which gives you FREE COVER for the entire Summer.  They will have complimentary pizza from 7:30-8:30pm, drink specials, and a DJ. 

On Friday April 26, “Forage, Harvest, Feast with Marie Viljoen” with Oyster House Mystic at Stone Acres Farm.  Marie Viljoen is a writer, cook, kitchen gardener, and New York City forager who is coming to Stone Acres Farm to co-host a dinner inspired by her book "Forage, Harvest, Feast." 

Norwalk Now presents Norwalk City Hunt, an interactive “Amazing Race” throughout the Wall Street and SoNo neighborhoods of Norwalk.  It will take place on Saturday, April 27 with a meet-up time of 10:30 AM at O’Neill’s Irish Pub.  Participants (21 and older) compete in teams of 4 and are guided through the hunt on the City Hunt phone app.  Participants will be walking, running, or catching a Norwalk Now Circulator Van or Wheels2U bus, which will shuffle them between neighborhoods to the over 40 destinations participating in the hunt.

Saturday April 27 marks “Suds & Curds Brewfest” at Oxford’s Black Hog Brewing.  General admission tickets are $60 and include two-ounce beer and cheese samples. VIP tickets, including an exclusive tour and tasting with master brewer Tyler Jones and cheese pairing master class with Jason Sobocinski, are $80. A designated driver ticket is $35 and includes cheese samples. The event runs from 1 to 5 p.m. Tickets are available on beerfests.com.

The Thread City Hop Fest takes place on Sunday April 28.  The annual festival features craft beer tastings from more than 45 breweries, live music, food trucks, and local vendors. Tickets are $35 in advance or $50 at the gate (subject to availability.) threadcityhopfest.com.

Tony’s at the J House now invites you to Sunday afternoons on the patio featuring Tony’s new brunch menu garnished with bottomless mimosas, bellinis, and bloody marys.

Food trucks will be on site at the center each weekend throughout the spring and summer across from J. Crew Factory Store.
