Features Restaurant Hartford County West Hartford Private Party Private Dining Dining Experience Pop-Up Dinner Hotel Chef Tyler Anderson Presents "Room Service at the Goodwin", A Theatrical, Interactive 3-Course Private Dinner Experience CTbites Team December 16, 2020 weHartford, in partnership with Chef Tyler Anderson and the Goodwin Hotel, is pleased to announce a unique and COVID-safe dining experience beginning January 8th, 2021, running Thursday through Sunday dinner seatings through the winter.Room Service at the Goodwin: Yes-or-No Morgan, is the first event of its kind. Select hotel rooms at The Goodwin have been transformed into private dining spaces for up to four people. Each party will enjoy a theatrical, interactive three-course dinner experience, curated by Chef Tyler Anderson, with clues, hints, and performances that unveil details and secrets about the life of the historic American businessman JP Morgan, a Hartford local and frequent visitor to The Goodwin Hotel. As we enter the winter months, restaurants have needed to think outside of the box in order to remain open while maintaining safety. “In every phase of the pandemic we have tried to quickly assess the strengths and weaknesses of our operations. We ignore the weaknesses and attack the strengths—this, along with an amazing team, has allowed us to pivot.” Tyler shares on having to constantly innovate and rethink creative strategies since March. Chef Tyler’s restaurant in Simsbury, Millwright’s, has installed greenhouses so that guests can continue to dine outdoors comfortably and safely, even during the cold winter months. He has also created a new outdoor dining concept ‘Ta-que’ which has now found a home at New Park Brewery in West Hartford. The idea for the experience was born out of a yearning to continue to bring business into Downtown Hartford during the pandemic. On the heels of weHartford’s Picnic in the Park series that took place in Bushnell Park during September and October, Melissa Melonson, Founder and CEO of Lumi Hospitality, saw a need to continue to encourage people from Hartford and its surrounding areas to come downtown and support local businesses. “We knew that in order to get people downtown right now, we were going to have to give them a very safe, and very unique experience worth coming for. I believe if we do things differently and lead with innovation and a little imagination, life doesn’t need to stop entirely," she says.Yes-or-No Morgan is a COVID-safe experience, following all state guidelines and recommendations. The experience will be almost completely contactless. There will be two deliveries to each dining room, and items will appear on carts outside guests’ doors. There is only one seating in each dining room per night, and all rooms are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized each day. Any props used in the rooms are also cleaned and/or replaced daily.Tickets to the event begin at $124.42 per person, which includes tax and a service charge. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Hands On Hartford, a social service nonprofit organization that serves Hartford’s most economically challenged residents in the areas of food, housing, and health. Guests will also have the opportunity to make their experience a “staycation.” The Goodwin Hotel is offering a $120 discounted room rate to guests who book in conjunction with the event.Visit www.roomserviceatthegoodwin.com for all details and to purchase tickets.
