Whether they are feeding school children, providing meals to people out of work in the restaurant industry, or donating meals to first responders and hospitals, these are a few programs we can ALL get behind. If you have the resources, please consider making donations to these incredible programs, and celebrate those just doing good work. They are working directly with guidance counselors to drop off food to kids. They have raised $4200 in 2 days. Call restaurant to donate. Also, for anyone who wants to donate to the hospitals , Dave’s Planet Pizza will take 25% off your entire bill. PIES FOR THE PEOPLE Christian Petroni (Fortina) Donate a Pie to somebody who needs a meal: When you call Fortina for takeout you can also choose to donate a cheese pie to someone in need! All donations will be delivered to local neighborhoods in need during this challenging time. You can also DONATE A PIE HERE. DONATE FOR DELIVERY Chef Matt Storch (Match, Match Burger Lobster) Chef Storch has partnered with FOOD FOR THE FRONT LINES making it very easy to donate food to Medical workers at local hospitals. When you place your online order, there are buttons allowing guests to add either $15 or $20 to their order. Every $15 allows Match to deliver a meal. Once they reach 50 they will deliver to an Emergency room, ICU, EMT or PD. Please donate!FAMILY MEAL, Chef Tyler Anderson (+ rotating restaurant list) Chef Tyler Anderson of Millwright’s +is working with a few other restaurants in the greater Hartford area to provide “Family Meals” to out of work folks from the restaurant industry. This program starts Tuesday, March 24th, 3-5PM at Millwright’s and will eventually rotate through various locations. Here’s how it works. Guests will pick up at Millwright’s, who will be providing one meal per household, that feeds two people. They will be serving 50 meals daily or 100 people a day. Chef Anderson says “We want to rotate through locations such that people have something to do…take a drive…grab dinner.” There is no need to pre-order. Just show up. IMPORTANT!!! THE HOPS COMPANY & ZUPPARDI’S TEAMThe Hops Company and Zuppardi’s Partner with TEAM, Inc. to Provide Free Meals to People in Need in the Valley: “We are excited to share that The Hops Company and Zuppardi's Apizza have partnered with TEAM, Inc., to provide free meals to people in need in the Valley. Nutritious meals will be available for pick up at the restaurant, starting this Sunday March 22nd 4PM. Hot dinners will include chicken, rice, veggies and bread. “In times like these, we all need to take care of each other,” says owner Ignacio Blanco. “No one will be turned away.” Chef David DiBari (The Parlor, Eugene’s Diner, The Cookery) DOUGH 4 DOUGH Just slightly further afield, but if you happen to live in the Westchester area we wanted you to be aware of Chef David DiBari’s program, DOUGH 4 DOUGH, their “quest to Feed & Serve our local communities affected by this shit-storm that is COVID-19. Our mission is to provide a safe way to supply as many local hospitality industry workers, families, school children and organizations in need with as much love, PIZZA and healthy vegetablas we possibly can. Please help us work towards this mission. Our goal is to DONATE 150 pizzas per day (750+ per week)! Can’t stop won’t stop!!! HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP:”Donate at least one $13 pizza with your takeout order. For every pizza donated, we will donate another, doubling the number of pizzas donated per day!
