Meatball lovers unite- National Meatball Day is March 9th!  To celebrate the holiday, Culinary Director Diego Burgos of the newly-opened MJ23 Sports Bar & Grill in Mohegan Sun, is unveiling a special Meatball menu.  Highlight dishes include Meatball Sliders, Meatball Pizza, Meatball Sub and a classic Spaghetti & Meatballs served with signature garlic bread. The meatball menu will be available every Monday for Meatball Mondays.

On March 9, visit Sweets on Main in Branford for a BYOB St. Patty’s Day themed Piñata Cake decorating class! You will frost and decorate a 3 layer 6 inch cake. 

Niantic & East Lyme Restaurant Week returns March 9 – 16, 2020.  Restaurants like Lyme Tavern, Castello of Niantic, and The Black Sheep are offering a range of specials throughout the week.  Visit the website to see the list of restaurants and their offers.

Join the Chef Team from Terrain Cafe and Amis Trattoria, Westport for teaching and tasting culinary journey at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center.  On March 9, make Pink Peppercorn Tonarelli with Regional Executive Chef, Jes Bengtson.  Learn to roll with the best as Regional Executive Chef Jes Bengtson teaches the class how to handroll pasta to create a special twist on the classic cacio e pepe. 

Starting March 10, kids in grades 5-9 can participate in Wakeman Town Farm’s “Farm Fresh Baking for Teens.”  On Tuesdays from 3-5pm through May 5, middle schoolers will explore using both savory and sweet ingredients in a variety of tarts, pastry pockets, cookies and cakes.   

L’escale in Greenwich has TWO wine dinners this week!  On Tuesday March 10, enjoy the wines of Hartford Court alongside a 5 course meal.  On Wednesday Marc h 11, L’escale in Greenwich hosts a Champagne Tasting Dinner featuring the wines of Vollereaux.  The meal starts with amuse bouche and continues with 3 delectable courses.  It starts at 6:30pm and costs $125 per person.  Call 203-661-4600 to reserve.

Calling all cheese lovers!  On March 11, join Mystic Cheese Company for an evening of storytelling and delicious pairings featuring cheeses paired with the beer of Connecticut Valley Brewing.  Learn the story behind the Mystic cheese company and the basics of cheesemaking; as well as a behind-the-scenes scoop on how some of our beers came to be and why beer is the ultimate beverage for food pairings.  Tickets are $50. 

On March 11, Artisanal Burger Company in Manchester is counting down to St. Patrick’s Day with a Whiskey Dinner.  The evening begins with a reception and continues with a 4 course sit down dinner.  Tickets are $65. 

The Griswold Inn’s Wine Series continues on March 12 with “It’s All About the Reds: Passion for Pinots.”  Each event features a guest presenter who will offer three or four wines for tasting while the Inn's Executive Chef will provide small plates for pairing and give a brief cooking demonstration. Events begin at 5:45 pm and last approximately an hour. There is a $20 fee for participation and reservations are required, 860.767.1776.

Greenwich Restaurant Week continues through March 13. During Greenwich Restaurant Week, local restaurants participate with specials, events and $19.99 lunch & $39.99 dinner for most or all participants. Greenwich Restaurant Week is presented by Greenwich Magazine. 

The Mill on the River in South Windsor now serves a Complete 3-Course Lunch for $17.95 per person Monday-Friday.  It includes the choice of one starter, entree, and chef's selected dessert.  Visit the website for the full menu.
