10 + CT Restaurants & Wholesalers Now Selling Groceries To The Public

Trips to the grocery store are becoming increasingly difficult. In addition to the risks associated with heading out into the crowd, shelves are picked over and ingredients are low. In order to make premium foods more accessible, some Connecticut restaurants and food wholesalers are making their meats, produce, and other staples available to the public as groceries. We have compiled this guide to let you know which restaurants have grocery programs and which wholesalers are now offering their goods to the public.

b restaurants, Various: Locals 8 Restaurant Group has repurposed their training center on 484 Farmington Avenue and opened a family store.  Some of the current offerings include fresh vegetables, rice, canned goods, seasonings, potatoes, pasta, one-pound packs of chicken, salmon, ground pork and more. Locals 8 is also delivering meal kits to Fairfield to be distributed at their Plan b location so that employees and the community can conveniently pick up food, while they work on opening additional family stores in southern Connecticut

Bruculino, Norwalk: Selling their Fresh Pasta Nostra pasta made with Organic Wheat Flours, triple filtered water and local veg-fed, CT eggs.

Chef’s Warehouse: They are known for delivering high quality ingredients to chefs, but now they are opening their services up to the public. Plus, they will donate a portion of sales to impacted members of the food service industry.

D’Artagnan Foods: Delivering all natural and antibiotic free meats via FedEx and local truck delivery.

The Essex & Los Charros, Centerbrook: In addition to offering take-out meals, they now offer gourmet groceries via their new online platform www.theessemarket.com. Some orders even qualify for free delivery.

Geoff Lazlo Foods: Offering everything from milk to coffee to premium meats to produce. Available items change weekly. To order, email geoff@geofflazlo.com.

Gruel Brittania, Fairfield. They now have a whole provisions section in addition to their prepared and frozen options.

Maggie McFly’s, Manchester: Maggie McFly's has launched an "Express Grocery" supplementary program to aid in making hard-to-find grocery items more accessible. Grocery items are distributor-sealed for restaurant use, meaning there is no handling of the items once they leave the distributor.

Match, Norwalk: Now offering Match provisions, where you can get your proteins, pastas, cheeses, produce, and much more- all through an online portal.

Parker, all locations: You can now get a weekly provisions kit with basics like butter, eggs, apples, meat, and produce, for $50.

Popover Bistro & Bakery, Simsbury: They offering groceries, ingredients, and cooking necessities alongside their prepared meals.  They can pack up the bag of items and leave it out at their curbside pick up.

Redding Roadhouse, Redding: They have launched “Roadhouse Grocery,” an online portal where you can buy fresh produce, meat, dairy, baked goods, and more that they get from their Wholesalers.

Sardilli Produce & Dairy Co, Hartford: Now offering curbside pick-up to the public every Tuesday and Thursday. Choose a veggie, fruit, or combo box and they will put it in your car for you.
