Grounds keeps their menu pretty consistent, as they have their everyday classics, but they also rotate new donuts to allow their customers to try new flavors each time they come into the donut house. “We have 10 everyday donuts that we crank out every day that are like the standards, and then the four rotating ones we have every Saturday,” Nick Terrana, owner of the shop, said. “We have our head baker come up with four crazy ideas.” With flavors ranging from classic glazed to cookies and cream or even coconut guava, customers will never get bored of their donut order as there is always something new to look forward to. Similarly, the staff enjoys making up crazy flavors, as each flavor design is a collaborative effort. To stay up to date on their rotating specials, guests should follow their instagram account to avoid missing out (@groundsdonuthouse). As for Terrana, he enjoyed their blueberry muffin donut because it took the classic breakfast treat to a new level. Many customers agreed with him, as the flavor was a top seller. “The blueberry muffin donut had blueberry frosting and then crushed muffin tops and fresh blueberries on top,” Terrana said. “It was insane.”Another popular flavor is called the candy shop, a favorite among many young kids.“The candy shop was strawberry frosting with gummy bears and nerds candy on top,” Terrana said. “It was nuts. It seems weird when you think about it but the sour and sweet tastes so good.” The most popular menu items are usually the ones that get rotated, but some customers’ favorites include the Fruity Pebbles donut and the Boston Creme. When the staff notices that one particular rotated flavor sells out quickly, they make sure to bring that flavor back. What can guests expect aside from wildly donuts, Grounds Donut House offers premium drinks for their customers to grab and go, or sit down and enjoy. “For food, we pretty much only do donuts here, but we have a very extensive coffee menu,” Terrana said. “Coffee is equally as important to us as the donuts, so we source all of our coffee from across the country. We also do a similar thing where we rotate the coffee. We have multiple blends that we rotate every month.” An exciting new addition to the Grounds Donut House menu is the combination of many people’s favorite desserts– donuts and ice cream. “The next thing is the ice cream donut,” Terrana said. “We have started to inject donuts with ice cream flavors like chocolate and vanilla and then have different toppings to add.” Terrana partnered with Mauro Tropeano and Jimmy Lyons to open up the donut house in what they think is the perfect location. “We are local to the area and know that there is nothing like this around here,” Terrana said. “The only thing is Dunkin Donuts, so we figured why not do it here.” Stop by Grounds Donut House to satisfy your sweet tooth and indulge in a decadent donut or a premium coffee beverage.
