Game changer. A little more than a year ago, we gave you an inside look at the first of the Sally’s Apizza expansion in Downtown Stamford. Well, we’re back with a sequel that comes on the heels of the opening of Sally’s brand new Fairfield location at 665 Commerce Drive. This is not a sneak peek at Sally’s Fairfield. Nor is it a teaser at upcoming Sally’s openings in 2023 like in Wethersfield, Woburn, MA, Newington, and the long rumored Sally’s at The SoNo Collection…which is happening, by the way! Apparently when that pizza secret leaked, they weren’t nearly ready for it. Don’t be mad at Sally’s, be mad at your sources. Think spring or early summer for Norwalk. Instead, and because with inevitable expansion in terms of more Sally’s locations, it’s a natural progression that they’re menu would grow as they grow. Here’s a glance and a few tidbits about the NEW NEW on Sally’s non-apizza menu! sallysapizza.comFollow Sally’s on IG for the up the date buzz @sallysapizza Also: Don’t stop scrolling. Keep going for wings, balls, a seasonal pizza, and so much more! Sally’s veal/beef/pork blend “skillet meatballs” come in a robust, deep red, garlicky, basil-y, thick marinara. These are some tender, melt-in-your-mouth balls. Get your mind out of the gutter. Just kidding! That’s exactly where we intended it to go. Pasta at Sally’s! The world may not be able to handle this! In Stamford—so far, anyway—this is the only pasta offering. Yeah, that’s correct, it’s rigatoni. The sauce? A homemade pepperoni vodka sauce with slices of ‘roni and ripe cherry tomatoes that get charred in the pizza oven. But Sally’s doesn’t use the pizza oven for any of these dishes because it’s occupied by…pizza. If you’re wondering if this is available in New Haven, it’s not. The O.G. is sticking to pizza and salad. Fairfield, though, has this, plus ravioli marinara, spaghetti in white clam sauce, chicken parm, chicken arugula, and sausage & peppers. A Foxon Cream on draft to wash it all down. That “Sonic ice” is the truth. Real ones know. Under those toasty breadcrumbs are a bunch of shrimp dressed in EVOO and flavored with plenty of garlic and Calabrian chilis. Oh, you best believe Calabrians are making another appearance… Told ya! Sally’s “Italian Wings” go through a process before they get to your table and in your mouth. They’re brined for 24 hours, then slow roasted for two hours, stored chilled, fried to order, and tossed in a Calabrian chili - garlic - vinegar sauce that’s got some kick that’ll numb your lips but won’t make you ask the waitstaff for a glass of milk. The dipping sauce is a parmesan peppercorn sauce that blows away that cheap Ken’s Blue Cheese that most places serve. You’ll find yourself dipping your pizza crusts in this. Trust. Those wings, but as a pizza. Sort of. Sally’s current of what should be many seasonal pies, is a Calabrian chili chicken, and much like the wings, it’s got that same wing sauce that the shredded chicken is dressed in, plus diced onion, and a drizzle of that parm-peppercorn sauce. It’s a better buffalo chicken pizza, imo. Ok, so I couldn’t just have soda when Sally’s actually has a solid cocktail menu. Their take on a Billionaire, the Wooster Street Special, blends bourbon and rye, and adds pineapple juice into the recipe. Goes down WAYYY too easy is an understatement. No visit is complete without a classic tomato pie. Someone is VERY hyped for this.
