Seamore's, Sustainable Seafood Restaurant from NYC Opening in Darien June 9

CTbites Team

Seamore's, the sustainable seafood restaurant group based in New York City, will expand into Connecticut with the launch of a location in Darien. Their mission is to make sustainable, local fish, more accessible to everyone, with their entire menu featuring sustainably caught or farmed fish. Restaurateur Jay Wainwright has partnered with local chef Shannon Sturz to curate a menu that reflects local flavors and supports the local fisheries. Executive Chef Shannon Sturz, who grew up in the area, was previously Sous Chef at The Inn at Pound Ridge by Jean-Georges. Seamore’s will make its debut at Darien Commons on Friday, June 9.

The 3,400-square foot restaurant features an expansive bar, a patio for outdoor dining and a casual, fun vibe. It's the first full-service restaurant to open at Darien Commons.

Seamore’s Darien is the eighth restaurant for the group, which also has locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Arlington, VA. The brand’s mission is to make sustainable, local fish more accessible to everyone. Sourcing is paramount at Seamore’s; every piece of fish is sustainably caught or farmed. The menu is built to ebb and flow with the ocean, featuring the freshest seafood and only species whose stocks are stable or growing and are harvested in an environmentally conscious manner.

The brand’s signature “Daily Landings” wall indicates which fish is available each day, and the menu showcases Connecticut clams, oysters and fish as well as local fish from New York, New Jersey, and Massachustters. Dinner options range from the Reel Deal (a choice of a fish from the Daily Landings wall + seasonally changing vegetable side dishes and choice of sauce) to Fish & Chips to Lobster Mac & Cheese. Seamore’s also offers a special “For the Guppies” Kid’s Menu. Craft cocktails include Seamore’s signature cucumber martini, a watermelon basil spritz and more.

Seamore’s Darien is located at 110 Heights Road and is the first full-service restaurant to open at Darien Commons. The restaurant will be open for dinner Wednesday-Sunday and will expand to offer dinner every night plus lunch and brunch this summer. Happy hour is offered weekdays from 4pm-6pm with half-price oysters and beer/wine/cocktails between $5-$9.

“We are thrilled to expand into Connecticut and bring the highest quality seafood to Darien,” said Seamore’s owner Jay Wainwright. “Whether you’re looking to have a fun night out or a family meal, we’ve got something for everyone.”
