They will focus on the top 3 grapes of Southern France: two are the French equivalent: mourvèdre/ monastrell, grenache/garnacha, and the Syrah. The Chelsea takes a trip to New Orleans on April 23rd and 24th. In conjunction with The Revivalists concerts at FTC, The Chelsea will be serving NOLA classics inspired by legendary NOLA restaurants: Gumbo as eaten at "Herbsaint;" Boudin, you'd find at "Cochon;" Jambalaya like KPauls and the list goes on. Friday April 25 is “Hops and Grapes, Toasts & Tastes” at Chelsea Piers in Stamford. Hops & Grapes, Toasts & Tastes is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s fifth annual food, wine and beer tasting event in Fairfield County. Local restaurants, vineyards and breweries will showcase a selection of appetizers, wines, beers and liquors. 7:30pm-10:30pm. On Friday, April 25, 2014, Immaculate Conception Shelter & Housing Corporation will be hosting a second annual Taste of the World— An International Food, Wine & Beer Tasting to benefit the services Immaculate has provided to Hartford’s Homeless since 1981. The evening will feature culinary delicacies. Thomas Hooker Brewery and Back East Brewing Company will pour beer, and Harvest Fine Wine will provide wines. The evening will also include eclectic music and silent auction. Taste of the World will be held at St. Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield, from 6:30 pm- 9:30 pm. Tickets are $75 each, $150 per couple and $70 for each additional person on your reservation card. All proceeds will help Immaculate better serve the homeless population of Hartford. Saturday the 26th, Jones Family Farms in Shelton will have a Hands on Cooking Class called “Au Chocolat.” Focus on rustic French cooking, including cassoulet and chocolate! Limited to 12 students. Cost: $85 per student. 12-3pm. PAWS Uncorked: A Taste for Rescue takes place on 4/27 from 5-8 pm at the Stamford Marriott. PAWS rescues and finds homes for homeless cats and dogs in Connecticut. Looking ahead… On Tuesday, May 13th, Mezon in Danbury is holding a 7-course tasting dinner to raise money for Danbury Hospital's Global Health Education program. Each course will be paired with a wine from Latin America/Spain and the evening will start with a celebratory cocktail. 100% of of the ticket price is going to the foundation. We are hoping this will be a great and intimate event as only 50 tickets are available for purchase.
