Nibble: CT Food Events for The Week of Dec 5-11th

The Wilton Library now has a book group dedicated to food literature. This month, explore Dinner with Edward by Isabel Vincent while Pamela Lillis, a nutritional health coach, moderates a discussion.  This free event takes place on Tuesday December 6 at 11am.  

On Tuesday December 6, enjoy a Badia a Coltibuono Italian Wine Dinner at Max a Mia in Avon, CT.  Enjoy 4 courses including Rabbit Porchetta and Lamb Carpaccio as Guest Speaker Emanuela Stucchi guides you through complementary wines.  It costs $85 per person, plus tax and gratuity. 

Start the week out right at Cask Republic in Norwalk and Stamford!  Pay half price for any bottle of wine and tap carafes every Sunday and Monday evening.

Harry’s Wine & Liquor Market in Fairfield and Rustico Trattoria in Westport are teaming up for a Piedmont Holiday Wine Dinner on Tuesday December 6.  Enjoy 6 courses paired with complementary Italian wines from the region.  It begins at 7pm and costs $80 per person, plus tax and gratuity.  For additional details or to reserve, call 203 292 9638 or email rusticotrattoria@live.com.

The Fez in Stamford will offer a painting night on December 7 in conjunction with Pinot’s Pallette.  For just $39, one can paint a picture under the guidance of a teacher and enjoy a complimentary glass of wine.

On Thursday December 8, Jones Family Farms will offer a Christmas Eve Fish Supper as part of its Sip and Savor Series.  Chef Sherry Swanson will show you how to prepare a menu featuring Clams, Cod, and Mussels, and more in a fun, yet educational setting.  It runs from 6:30-8:30pm and costs $75 per person. 

Are you curious about wines from Israel?  Bistro Basque in Milford will host a wine dinner featuring Israeli wines on Thursday December 8 from 6:30-9pm.  It costs $75 per person. 

Beer Conn returns to Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport on Saturday December 10.  The festival, now in its third year, will feature more than 50 local, national, and international breweries.  Session 1 runs from 12:30-4pm and Session 2 runs from 5:30-9pm.  Tickets start at $40.  http://www.beer-conn.com/ 

The Spinning Wheel in Redding invites you to “Holiday Wishes: A Live Musical Review & Gourmet Dinner” beginning December 9 and lasting through December 30.  Shows are every Wednesday and Friday at 6:30pm, Sunday at 1pm and 5pm, and Saturday at 12pm.  The evenings feature a gourmet three-course menu followed by a holiday-themed show of music, magic, and comedy.
