Nibble: CT Food Events for October 8-15

Join Terrain Garden Cafe for a food-focused evening hosted by CTBites and the Westport Farmers Market. On Monday October 9, they’ll gather with some of the food industry’s leading talents to discuss trends, restaurant and farming secrets, and everyday life during an open forum. Reservations required. $50 per person. Cost includes welcome cocktail, stationary and passed hors d’oeuvres, and hospitality.  Tickets available here.

On Monday October 9, 86’D- A Culinary Collision- takes place in West Hartford.  8 Remaining Chefs will participate in 8 Battle Rounds in secret restaurants with open kitchens.  A portion of the proceeds will be given to End Hunger CT.  Tickets are $30. 

On Tuesday October 10, Two Roads Brewing Company and CT Girls Pint Out are celebrating Women in Beer!  A $10 ticket includes a beer and the chance to hear from a panel of women in the industry.  A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Get In Touch Foundation for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 

Through October 31, visit Sport Hill Farm every Saturday and Sunday from 12-5pm to purchase a pumpkin from the patch.   Kids can receive a free tattoo and treat and the farm will donate 35% of the pumpkin purchases back to the community via Easton PTA & E.L.F.

On Wednesday, October 11 from 5:30-8:30pm, New London Main Street will once again host the popular Fall Food Stroll. Approximately 30 local restaurants will offer bite-sized samples of their finest offerings.  Participating restaurants include The Social, Fatboys Kitchen & Bar, Hot Rod’s, Daddy Jacks, 2 Wives Brick Oven Pizza, Fiddleheads, Studio 33 featuring You Take the Cake, The Oasis, and more.  Tickets are limited and cost $30 for adults, $25 for students or military, and $10 for children. Group discounts are also available.

Join Chop Shop Cooking for an Asian Flavors cooking class on Wednesday October 11 from 7-9pm.

Now you can enjoy Sushi & Sake Thursdays at Kona Grill.  Choose any roll and it will come with a sake flight for just $19.50.  The special lasts all day.

The Third Annual Crazy Brew Bash will take place at Mount Southington Ski Area on Saturday October 14.  There will be hundreds of beers, food trucks, corn hole, music, and more.  Tickets range from $15-$55. 

The Gluten-Free Connecticut Food Expo comes to Bristol on Saturday October 14 from 11am-4pm.  Sample gluten-free treats, hear from authors, see cooking demonstrations, win prizes, and more! 

Redding Beer Co will have a Grand Opening Tapfest Saturday, October 14 at 4-10pm.  Try their American Pale Ale, American Wheat Ale, East Coast IPA, Irish Red Ale, English Special Bitter, and more.
