It’s a Ballast Point & Artisan Cheese Throwdown in New Haven!  On Monday February 13, Wine101 will host Jeff Nelson and pair craft brews with artisan cheeses.  It runs from 6-8pm and costs $10 per person.

Ambler Farm has announced a summer program called “Adventures at the Farm.”  Students will learn all about working on a farm, from looking after the animals to tending the gardens to cooking to hayrides.  Registration is open.  

Take a Pre Mardi Gras Class with AMG catering on Wednesday February 28 from 7-9pm.  Learn how to make Gumbo, Jambalaya, and Bourbon bread pudding.  It costs $78 per person. 

Wakeman Town Farm in Westport also has a summer program.  The Junior Chef Summer Camp will take place July 10-14 or July 17-21, from 12:30-3pm.  Kids in grades K-5 work alongside local chefs to pick the freshest organic ingredients around from the farm and create fun fare.  There is a new curriculum each week; feel free to sign up for one week or both!  

Culinary Works presents a Valentine’s Day cooking class for couples on Tuesday February 14 at 6:30pm.  In the Stamford Showroom, make dishes like Beet Hummus with Vegetables, Manchego Cheese Drizzled with Raw Honey, and Tuna Crudo with Soy Yuzu Truffle Vinaigrette.  It costs $110 per person.   

Two Roads and Windmill Restaurant in Stratford invite you to a Valentine’s edition of Paint 2 Pints.  It begins at 7pm.  

On Thursday February 16, The Hops Company (T.H.C.) hosts Glass Etching with Craftivate.  Choose a set of 2, 4, 6, or 8 glasses and learn how to decorate them.  Prices range depending on the number of glasses.  Food and drink can be purchased on site.  http://thehopscompany.com/events/event/glass-etching-class-with-craftivate/ 

Stamford Restaurant Weeks begin on February 17!  Over 20 Downtown Stamford restaurants will offer lunch and dinner prix fixe menus at different price points.  It runs until March 2.  For a list of participants and restaurant week menus, visit:

Fresh Salt at Saybrook Point & Inn continues the Cuisine Series with a Macallan Scotch Dinner on Saturday February 18.  Jeremy Fonicello, renowned Macallan Scotch Brand Ambassador, will guide guests through a five course meal paired with Macallan scotches.  The cocktail reception begins at 6:30 and the sit down dinner begins at 7pm.  It costs $125 per person, plus tax and gratuity. 

Brooklyn Northeast Wines and Spirits in Brooklyn, Connecticut has exciting tastings in store this week.  On Friday February 17 from 6:30-7:30pm, stop by for a free sake tasting.  Then on Saturday February 18, they’ll host their 3rd Annual Pappy and Rare Bourbon Charity Event.  Admission is free and guests pay for tastes of the coveted bourbon once inside.  There will also be raffles. 

The Perfect Pair: A chocolate & Wine Affair returns to the Bakerville Library Annex in New Hartford, CT on Saturday, February 18, 2017.  From 5:30-8 pm, taste wine, beer, and chocolate and enter to win door prizes. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door.  

The yoga meets beer trend continues with Firefly Hollow Brewing in Bristol offering Namaste Sunday on February 19 from 10:45-11:45am.  A $25 ticket admission includes one hour of yoga and one beer.  http://fireflyhollowbrewing.com/ 

The Greenwich location of Fleisher’s Craft Butchery presents Pork Butchery 101 on Sunday February 19.  A nose-to-tail demonstration will illustrate how to break down, debone and skin properly.  Plus, learn about anatomy, cooking tips, and environmental sustainability.
