Cask Republic in Stamford presents a 5-course whiskey dinner on April 25 at 7pm.  The evening will feature beloved hard to find whiskies like Van Winkle Special Reserve 12 Year, WhistlePig Boss Hog Third Edition, Four Roses Elliot's Select Single Barrel Limited Edition, Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve 20 Year, and Glenmorangie 18 Year Extremely Rare.  Dishes will include Veal Heart Tartar, Maple Bourbon Pork Belly, and more.  Seating is limited.  Reservations required and can be made by calling 203-348-2275.

Grab The Tasty Yolk’s April special while you still can!  "The Mad Batter" consists of a Maple bacon cheddar waffle covered with 2 eggs. Check their current locations on their facebook page. 

Tickets are on sale for CLASP Homes of Westport’s 13th Annual Taste of Westport.  It takes place on May 4 at the Westport Inn.  Restaurants like Harvest, El Segundo, The Spread, Little Pub, and Matsu Sushi will prepare specialty dishes.  The evening also includes wine, beer, specialty cocktails, and dessert by Le Rouge chocolates.  Tickets are $75 in advance and $85 at the door.  www.tasteofwestport.com

On Tuesday April 25, learn the basics of pairing beer with cheese at the Fairfield location of the Fairfield Greenwich Cheese Company.  It costs $50 per person and runs from 7-9pm.

On Wednesday April 26, The Fez hosts a Portuguese Wine Tasting and Dinner featuring 5 wines from Portugal paired with a 5-course Moroccan menu.  As a bonus, participants will be entered to win a $100 gift card to The Fez. 

Aux Delices has classes for both adults and kids this week.  On Wednesday April 26, adults can learn techniques for a make ahead dinner party.  On Sunday April 30, kids can tackle “Easy Asian” recipes like Sesame Noodles, Chicken in Lettuce Cups,  Vegetable Fried Rice, and Mango and Coconut Pound Cake. 

Washington Prime SoNo and Georgetown have launches a new Spring/Summer menu.  Stop by to try the new dishes… and even take a seat on the patio, which is now open for the season.

Geronimo Tequila Bar & Southwest Grill in New Haven will have a Tequila Dinner on Wednesday April 26 at 7pm.  The evening will include dishes like Goat Cheese Wild Mushroom Tamal, Duck Confit Enchilada, Blue Corn Cedar Plank-Roasted Salmon Tostada, and Rice Pudding Crème Brule alongside a range of tequilas.  It costs $65 per person, plus tax and tip.  Reservations are required and can be made by calling 203-777-7700.

The 2017 Food For All Fundraiser takes place on April 26!  Local restaurants like Fortina, INDIA, Mecha Noodle Bar, Harlan Publick, Hapa Food Truck, and Room 112 are teaming up to help fight hunger.  All proceeds will support Food Rescue US' mission to end local hunger by directly transferring fresh, usable food that would have otherwise been thrown away from restaurants, grocers and other food industry sources to food insecure families throughout the U.S. 

The 4th Annual Martini Madness Tasting & Competition will take place in Newtown, CT on April 27 from 6-9pm.  The Newtown Country Club will serve as a backdrop for 3 hours of sampling cocktails, tasting food, a silent auction, music, and more.  Tickets start at $15. 

The 1st Annual Taste of Farmington will be held at Farmington Gardens on April 27 from 5:30-9:30pm.  Organized by Cure Restaurant & Bar, the event will feature food and drink from over 25 of the best chefs and mixologists of the Farmington Valley.  Tickets start at $50. 

Olives and Oil and The Wine Thief are teaming up for an Italian Wine Tasting in New Haven on April 27 from 5:30-7:30pm.  Taste over 30 wines and enjoy light snacks throughout the evening. 

Toddlers ages 2-5 can learn how to make pretzel dough, cheesy pretzel dogs, and cinnamon sugar pretzel bites with a cream cheese dip at Stew Leonards in Newington.  Classes are available on April 25, 28, and 29.  Visit their website for times and to register. 

Bridge House, an organization that empowers adults living with persistent mental illness to improve their quality of life, presents its first annual Brew & Chew at Two Roads Brewery on Friday April 28.  There will be a VIP reception for 5-6pm and a general admission reception from 6-9pm.  The evening will also include music by Oh, Cassius!, food by Sweet Relief Catering, brewery tours, a raffle, a book sale, and more. 

Simsbury Flea & Smorgasbord comes to the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center on Saturday April 29.  Antiques, vintage home decor, arts and crafts, jewelry, and local vendors will come together with of the best food trucks in CT for a for a fun day of shopping, food, music and more. 

Ambler Farm invites you to a pancake breakfast on Saturday April 29 from 11am-12:30pm.  Children can do a craft and meet new animal additions to the farm… and all can enjoy Ambler Farm Maple Syrup!  It costs $15 per adult and $5 per child. 

The Hops Company, Connecticuts only authentic beer garden, will host Beer for Beasts on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 12pm until 4pm.  Partnering with Sixpoint Brewery, Shelton Animal Shelter and Friends of the New Haven Animal Shelter, the event will allow guests to bring their leashed dogs to partake in an afternoon of fun activities at The Hops Company’s back garden.  $1 from the sale of each Sixpoint beer will be donated to the Shelton Animal Shelter and Friends of the New Haven Animal Shelter.

Terrain in Westport hosts a Dig Into Spring Festival on April 29 from 12-5pm.  Peruse their fully-stocked nursery, shop from local vendors, participate in garden workshops, and listen to live music from Bedlam Brothers String Band. 

Stratford’s 3rd Annual Restaurant Week continues through April 29.  Over 20 restaurants, including Outriggers, Paradise Pizza, Knapp’s Landing, Vazzy’s, and Salerno’s will offer specially priced menus.
