To celebrate National Burger Month (May), b Restaurants has debuted the “Burger and Beer Community Combo-tition!”  Each participating location has partnered with a local foodie celebrity, selected a beer from one of their favorite breweries, and designated a local charity.  The celebrities will all compete to create the best burger and from April 26 to May 7, 10% of each location’s burger and beer pairing will be donated to their chosen charity.  

On Monday May 1, enjoy an evening in Vienna… in Cheshire, CT!  The Watch Factory presents an evening with Vienna-inspired dishes and wine pairings.  It begins at 6:30pm and costs $86 per person. 

Liberty Rock Tavern in Milford presents its first ever Tequila Dinner on May 2 from 7-9pm.  The five course meal includes dishes like shrimp ceviche and hangar steak paired with specialty tequilas like Centenario and Tequila Ocho. 

Fairfield Greenwich Cheese Company believes goat cheese is a perfect choice for spring.  Visit their Greenwich location on May 2 from 7-9pm to learn more about this variety.  It costs $50 per person. 

Beginning this Sunday, Washington Prime will be unveiling a brand new Sunday Brunch menu at its SoNo & Georgetown locations w/ all the classics + new dishes like buttermilk and cracked black pepper fried chicken and Belgian waffles.

Ramps are synonymous with spring and Tarry Lodge in Westport is ushering in the season with a ramps dinner on Wednesday May 3.  The four course meal begins at 6:30pm and costs $140 per person, all inclusive. 

Through May 4, Margaritas Mexican Restaurant will host Cinco Days of Goodwill, a five-day fundraiser where 20% of guests’ checks are donated to Goodwill Industries.  Plus, visit them for $5 specials as part of the countdown to Cinco de Mayo.

 “Mise en place” is the basis for executing any recipe successfully.  Learn the technique with Sugar & Olives on May 3.  It costs $80 and also includes a cocktail. 

Harry’s Wine & Liquor Market is opening their library of bourbons just in time for the Kentucky Derby,  Join them on May 3 from 7-9pm to sample single barrel selections from its library, new releases, and other specialty whiskies.  It costs $40 per person. 

CLASP Homes of Westport’s 13th Annual Taste of Westport takes place on May 4 at the Westport Inn.  Restaurants like Harvest, El Segundo, The Spread, Little Pub, and Matsu Sushi will prepare specialty dishes.  The evening also includes wine, beer, specialty cocktails, and dessert by Le Rouge chocolates.  Tickets are $75 in advance and $85 at the door. 

On Thursday May 4, Jones Family Farms continues their Sip & Savor Series with “100 Foot Journey.”  It will feature Samosa Cakes with cilantro sauce, spiced Chicken with jeweled rice, and mango rice pudding. 

Stew Leonard’s Wines in Norwalk hosts winemaker Daniel Cohn on Thursday May 4 from 5-7:30pm.  Customers can taste his 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Bellacosa, recently named “America’s Hottest Wine” by Forbes Magazine.

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo a day early at the Norwalk Historical Society's Tequila Tasting at Mill Hill Historic Park on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 7:00pm. Gregg Glaser, a spirits and beer connoisseur and publisher/editor of Modern Distillery Age will lead the tasting. Learn about and try six to seven different styles of tequila and mezcal. Hearty Mexican appetizers provided by Tacos Mexico. Tickets are $45.00 per person before May 1, 2017, $50.00 per person after that date and at the door. Hardcore Sweet Cupcakes invites you to a Mexican themed Vegan class co-hosted with The Buddha Bistro from Watertown, CT on Friday May 5.  The evening includes all vegan cuisine and Mexican inspired desserts.  It costs $40 per person or $70 a couple.  Feel free to BYOB. 

The Connecticut Wine Trail Passport Program begins on May 5.  Pick up your passport from any Connecticut Farm Winery and start enjoying specials from participating wineries along the trail. 

Infinity Hall Music Hall & Bistro Hartford hosts a Cinco de Mayo party with tacos, tequila, dancing, and music by up and coming band Sacred Fire. 

Join Olea and the Wine Thief for a wine dinner with Chateau Musar on Friday May 5 at 7pm.  The meal features game like rabbit, lamb, partridge, and venison along with welcome snacks and dessert.  It costs $140 per person, plus tax and gratuity. 

Peaches in Norwalk hosts a Kentucky Derby Party on Saturday May 6.  The event, sponsored by Woodford Reserve Bourbon, starts at 3pm.  There will be specialty drinks and complimentary Hors D'ouevres from 4-6pm.  CT Cigar Co will also be there with great cigars and Otis and the Hurricanes will perform. 

Saturday May 6 is an egg-cellent event- literally!  Woodbury Farm Market will hold an Eggfest, where you can sample new recipes for the Big Green Egg. 

Westport Country Playhouse will host a 2017 Season Kick-off Block Party, on Saturday, May 6, 4 to 7 p.m., offering a fun, party-like atmosphere with food trucks, beer tastings, photo contest, activities, prizes, music, special ticket offers. Admission is free and open to the public.

The Junior League of Greater New Haven hosts "Race and Taste," their 13th Annual Wine Tasting and Silent Auction fundraiser, on Saturday May 6.  The Kentucky Derby themed party features wine tastings from Mt. Carmel Wines & Spirits, southern fare, and a silent auction. 

Craft260 and Connecticut Fallen Heroes Foundation will team up for a Cask Festival charity event on May 7.  Local breweries have created casks of special beers specifically for this event, and a DJ will be providing music all day.  Tickets are $30 in advance, or $40 at the door.  Only 200 tickets will be sold.  Admission includes unlimited beer samples. 

Aux Delices invites parents and kids ages 8-13 to a “Little Chefs and Adult Sous Chef Mothers Day Brunch” on Sunday May 7.  Make Mini Scones and Muffins, Deviled Eggs, a Baked French Pancake, andFruit Salad.
