Greenwich’s best come together on Monday August 7 for Best of Greenwich, Moffly Media's annual celebration of Greenwich's finest businesses.  The Delamar Greenwich Harbor Hotel will serve as a backdrop for fun cocktails, delicious hors d'oeuvres, and live music. 

On Wednesday August 9, Tarry Lodge in New Haven will partner with Stony Creek Brewery for a Swine & Dine Dinner.  The five course meal, with dishes like House-Smoked Porchetta over Arugula with Salsa Verde and Homemade Pappardelle Pasta with Braised Short Rib Ragu, will be paired with beer from the Branford based brewery.  It is $95 per person, plus tax and gratuity. 

TruNORTH Tavern & Table in Bridgeport will host its monthly industry night on Monday August 7 from 8:30pm-close.  Come down for $25 Drink Bracelets, a Hold em Poker Tournament, Flip Cup, Corn Hole, Beer Pong, FREE Pasta & Salad Buffet (while supply lasts), and a DJ.

Hartford’s Pond House Café hosts a Crab Fest on Thursday August 10 from 5:30-7:30pm.  They’ll roll out the newspaper and put out the mallets!  Choose from 3 crabs, 5 crabs, or alternatives like fried chicken or sirloin.  They’ll complete the meal with Corn Chowder, Corn on the Cob, Cole Slaw, Pickled Cucumber Salad, Watermelon, Iced Tea, and Ginger Tea.  Meals range from $9.50-$60. 

Learn what to do with your farmers market purchases at Chop Shop Cooking’s “Farmers Market Bounty” class on Thursday August 10 from 7-9pm.  The menu includes Breakfast Radish Toasts, Herbed Zucchini Feta Fritters, Summer Greens with Mustardy Potatoes & Soft Boiled Egg, Chicken Milanese with Arugula, Tomato Mozzarella Salad, and Zucchini Carbonara. 

On Thursday August 10, head down to The Blind Rhino in Norwalk for “Red, White, and Brews,” a fundraiser to benefit Olympic hopeful Megan Henry.  From 6-9pm, sip on brews from Stony Creek, participate in a darts tournament, enter raffles, and drink from an ice luge! 

Join the Norwalk Seaport Association for a Thursday Clambake on August 10.  Enjoy a round trip boat ride to Sheffield Island as well as a meal.  Choose from a traditional lobsterbake package, or opt for another meal.  Prices start at $65, and vary based on meal choice.  The boat departs at 6pm. 

The 9th Annual Easton Farm Tour will take place on Saturday August 12 from 10am-2pm.  The self-guided tour begins at the Samuel Staples Elementary School Pavilion Green.  From there, visit participating Easton farms for activities like tastings, pony rides, an antique farm tool exhibit, hayrides, games, petting zoos, greenhouse tours, pick your own, and more.  Directly following the Farm Tour, the Community Picnic will be held from 2:30-4:30pm at the Pavilion. 

The 2017 11th Annual Shoreline Wine Festival takes place on Saturday August 12 and Sunday August 13.  Hosted by Bishops Orchards, the festival will celebrate fine wines from Connecticut Wineries and Vineyards from all over the state.  Tickets start at $10.  The festival runs from 12-7pm on Saturday and 12-6pm on Sunday.  http://www.shorelinewinefestival.com 

Visit the Mystic Aquarium on Saturday August 12 for “Pizza with Penguins” from 6:30-8:30pm. Both adults and children can partake in a pizza buffet and beverage bar.  The penguins will make an appearance in the Main Gallery from 7:30-8:30pm. Plus, meet Petey the Penguin!  Those over age 11 are $24.95 and children ages 0-10 are $20.95.  Additional add-ons are available. 

On Sunday August 13, Half Full Brewery in Stamford invites you to a “Transcend Hoppiness Pop Up Beer Garden” at at South Farms in Morris, CT.  A $46 ticket includes 1 Beer, a Hop Yard Tour, and unlimited Knot Norm's Eats (Locally sourced Chicken, Beef, & Pork Kebabs, Street Corn, & Blistered Shishito Peppers).  Additional beer will be available for purchase.  https://www.facebook.com/events/1364226483669291 

Tickets are on sale now for the Flavour Wine Festival, which will take place Saturday September 9 from 3-7pm at The Warehouse at Fairfield Theatre Company.  With over 150 wines from all over the world, Flavour Wine Festival will have something exciting for all wine enthusiasts.  Tickets may be purchased online at GoodWorksLive.com, FairfieldTheatre.org, Fairfield Theatre Company Box Office, as well as in store at Kindred Spirits & Wine Westport and Fairfield locations. A portion of the proceeds from Flavour Wine Festival will benefit Built The Loft; the last major project on the Fairfield Theatre Company campus.
