Shell & Bones Oyster Bar and Grill is hosting a Jonathan Edwards Winery dinner on Wednesday, January 10 at 6pm.  The four-course menu includes Honduran Style Scallop Ceviche, Foie Gras Torchon, Ginger Crusted Salmon, and American Lamb.  There will be a Jonathan Edwards wine pairing with each course.  It costs $100 per person, which includes tax and gratuity.  Attendees will also receive a special gift from the winery.  Reservations are required:  .

Now at Bareburger Stamford and Ridgefield, bring in your old board or card games and receive 10% off your bill.  The games will be distributed to charities and children in need.

Bridgeport's new German Beer Hall, Harlan Haus, will have its grand opening on Wednesday January 10!  Find them at 155 State Street starting at 5pm.   

On Wednesday January 10, Trumbull Kitchen invites you to a Willamette Valley Wine Dinner from 6-9pm.   

If your New Year’s resolution is to learn more about cooking, perhaps Cheshire’s Cookbook Club is for you!  Wednesday January 10 will focus on the slow cooker, and participants are asked to bring a slow-cooker dish, along with the recipe and the cookbook you used.  Must be at least 18 years of age or older to participate and registration is required.   

Litchfield’s Saltwater Grille presents their first wine dinner of 2018 on Wednesday January 10.  It will highlight the award winning wines of the Michael David Winery in Lodi, California.  The five course meal lasts from 6:30-9pm.   

The Flatbread Company in Canton is teaming up with Cure Restaurant and Bar and Kinsmen Brewing Co. for a “collaboration night” on January 10.  They will add beer infused bacon to specially created dishes as well as some favorites from the menu.   

Consiglio’s Restaurant in New Haven invites you to a cooking class on Thursday January 11 from 6:30-8:30pm.  The menu features Spicy Tuscan Shrimp, Iceberg Wedge with Gorgonzola and Pancetta, Four Cheese Ravioli with Old Fashioned Meat Sauce, and Almond Amaretto Cake.  $65 per person includes dinner, a demonstration, and recipes. CC's Chocolates in Wolcott will show you how to make caramel and chocolate dipped apples and pretzel rods on Thursday January 11 from 6:30-8pm.  Snacks will be provided, and the event is BYOB.  Tickets are $25 and can be purchased by calling 203 879 3716.

Oak Haven Table & Bar will host their 4th Annual Pappy Van Winkle Dinner on Thursday January 11.  Chef Kevin will create a five course tasting menu with dishes to complement the Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year Old, Van Winkle Lot B Special Reserve 12 Year Old, Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve 15 Year Old, Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve 20 Year Old, and Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve 23 Year Old.  Tickets are $165 per person and the dinner runs from 7-10pm.   

Wakeman Town Farm will have a Thermomix Connecticut Cooking Class on Friday January 12 from 10am-12:30pm.  Classes are designed specifically for cooking with your Thermomix and give you the opportunity to learn new recipes and meet new people.  For further information please contact alexandra.piedade@thermomix.us.

On Saturday January 13 from 3:30-5:30pm, learn all about “The Magic of Wild Yeast Sourdough” with Wave Hill Breads.  The class will cover care and feeding of sourdough starters, as well as shaping, scoring, and steam baking of traditional sourdough batards. You will create your own starter to take home at the conclusion of the class.
