They’ll even paint a pumpkin to bring home. $30 per child. October 11 is Ladies Night Out at Sport Hill Farm! Join them for an evening of female farm fun featuring honey inspired light bites, casual conversation, and henna tattoos (temporary!). BYOB. The event runs from 7:30-9 pm and costs $28 per person. Stony Creek's annual Docktoberfest will unfold on October 13. They're turning the brewery into a German Beer Garden with live music, games, food trucks, and beer! Fairfield Restaurant Week returns October 8-14. More than 30 restaurants throughout Fairfield are participating with special fixed price lunch and dinner menus. On Tuesday October 9, Manchester Community College will be hosting Taps & Tapas, a fundraising event that will include small plates of gourmet food prepared by the culinary students of Manchester Community College. Craft beer will be provided by Labyrinth Brewing Company. The event will take place at MCC's Culinary Arts Center. All proceeds will go directly to Foodshare, a regional food bank that serves both Hartford and Tolland counties. Summer Soiree dinners with Chef Geoff Lazlo continue on October 11. Dinners take place at Millstone Farm and start at 6pm with a custom craft cocktail and passed canapés. Next, enjoy a three course dinner. The event is BYOB. The Fig Cooking School in Milford presents a “ Viva Italia” cooking class on October 11. The menu includes Baguette with Creamy Gorgonzola and Fig Jam, Mesclun and Arugula Salad with Pinot Grigio Vinaigrette & Parmesan shavings , Cannelloni with Besciamella Sauce, and a Torta Sbrisolona. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Waterbury is proud to present the Brass City Wine & Food Fest, which will be held at Mattatuck Museum on Thursday October 11 from 6-9pm. The evening will feature an opportunity to taste 9 wines paired with foods from 3 distinct regions – Italy, France and Spain. The Essex Steam Train and Dinner Cruise presents the "three B" cruise with Beer, Bratwurst, and Beautiful fall foliage on the Connecticut River. There will be Food Trucks, local vendors, kids’ entertainment, live music, and more. On Saturday 10/13 at 7pm, Trackside Teen Center of Wilton hosts an Oktoberfest celebration. It will include delicious German food and traditional Oktoberfest beverages.
