Nibble: CT Food Events For May 20- 27

On Monday May 21, Cask Republic presents a Beer Dinner in conjunction with No Worries Brewery.  There will be a welcome beer along with a four course meal an dbeer pairings.  It starts at 6:30pm and costs $65 per person.  Call Cask Republic Stamford at (203) 348-2275 to reserve.

Woodbury Restaurant Week runs from May 19 through May 25!  14 restaurants are offering prix fixe menus, discounts, and other specials in honor of the event. 

Artisanal Burger Company hosts a Two Roads Brewery Wine Dinner on Monday May 21.  It costs $60 per person and runs from 6:30-9:30pm. 

On Wednesday May 25, Chop Shop Cooking will teach you all about Party Bites.  Learn to make Shrimp Dumplings with Peanut Sauce; Crabcakes with Rosy Fruit Salsa; Heirloom Tomato Bruschetta with Feta Pesto; Lobster Quesadillas with Mango Salsa; BBQ Chicken Wontons with Bleu Cheese Dip; and Cucumber Cups with Feta, Roasted Peppers & Olives. 

For the first time, Chowdafest, presented by Stop & Shop, will allow a limited number of passionate foodies and fans of the event, to get a sneak peak into some of the new restaurants and chefs competing this fall.  The VIP Meet & Eat” Sneak Peak takes place Thursday May 24th at Aitoro's Appliance in Norwalk.  The includes a raw bar of clams & oysters compliments of Copps Island Oysters and unlimited sampling of at least twelve new chowders, soups and bisques being entered this fall.  It is $65 and limited to just 100 people. 

The 5th Annual RBS Food Truck Festival will take place on Friday May 25 in Orange from 4-8pm.  There will be over 25 trucks as well as a DJ! 

Tarry Lodge in Westport now has “Aperitivo Hour.”  Join them at our cocktail bar for small plates for $5 and select wines and cocktails for $10.  It is available from 4-6pm, Monday-Friday

The Farmington Food Truck Fest will take place on May 26 and 27 at 20 Waterside Drive in Farmington.  Over 20 food trucks will be on hand from 11am-7pm on Saturday and 11am-6pm on Sunday. 

Fig Cooking School in Milford is teaching you all about the Persian Spice Market with a class on Saturday May 26.  The menu features Jeweled Saffron Wedding Rice, Slow-Cooked Chicken with Pomegranate, Lamb Kebab, and Yogurt with Cucumber, Herbs, and Rose Petals. 

The Milford Food Truck Festival & Open Air Market will take place from May 26-28 at Eisenhower Park.  There will be over two dozen specialty food trucks, 100 booths from local vendors, and plenty of family friendly activities. 

Visit Green & Tonic in Westport for a “Superfood Brunch” on May 26 at 10:30am.  They are teaming up with Emily Tully, yoga teacher at Saraswati's Yoga Joint in Norwalk. 

Germany's Asparagus Festival “Spargelfest” is coming to Westport!  Rothbard Ale + Larder will celebrate the spring season with beer from Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan, the world's oldest brewery, along with German wines and asparagus dishes.  Join them on May 26 starting at 1pm.

Guilford Mooring, located directly on the shore of the Long Island Sound, has launched its new summer cocktail menu.  They’ve also a revamped Happy Hour offered Monday-Friday from 4-6pm that includes $5 bar bites and drink specials on seasonal beer and house wine offerings.
