2018 Newport Mansions Wine & Food Festival September 20-23

Imagine sipping on wine and feasting on gourmet bites, all overlooking Rhode Island’s beautiful coast.  You can at the 2018 Newport Mansions Food & Wine Festival, which begins on Thursday September 20 and continues through Sunday September 23.  It’s time for a road trip!

The event centers on the two-day Grand Tasting, featuring plates from local restaurants and hundreds of wines under the big tents on the lawn of Marble House.  Guests can also watch demonstrations on the Monogram Culinary Stage by regional and national chefs.  The Grand Tastings will take place on Saturday and Sunday from 1-4pm, with the option to upgrade to VIP for 12pm admission!

Those who want to get the party started can purchase tickets to additional Thursday and Friday night events.  A Bordeaux Grand Cru Dinner and Maritime Wine Dinner kick off the festivities on Thursday September 20.  On the 21st, attend the Wine & Rosecliff Gala where guests will enjoy exquisite wines, award-winning chefs, live music, and dancing in the spectacular Rosecliff ballroom.

Saturday also offers supplementary events.  A Vitner Dinner will unfold from 7-10:30pm.  A four-course dinner will be prepared by three renowned chefs and paired with wines that highlight the differences between “Old World” and “New World” wines.   Then, party the night away with “Newport After Dark” from 9m-12am at Forty 1º North.  Enjoy spirited cocktails, light late night bites, special wines, music and dancing overlooking Newport harbor.  

This year, the festival welcomes internationally acclaimed fashion designer and cookbook author Zac Posen!   Tickets are on sale to attend a conversation with him from 11am-12:30pm on September 22.  Tickets are $195 for members and $210 for non-members, which includes VIP admission to the Saturday Grand Tasting.
