25+ Connecticut Halloween Parties & Happenings for 2019

Costume?  Check.  Pumpkin?  Check.  Candy?  Check.  Halloween Plans.  Check…?  October 31 is quickly approaching and with so many fun options to choose from, what is one to do?  Connecticut restaurants, farms, bars, and venues are all getting into the Halloween spirit with frighteningly good food specials, cocktails, bar crawls, haunted hayride, and more.  Here are 25+ CT spots throwing spook-tacular events to lead up to and close out the holiday.

Bodega Taco Bar, Fairfield & Darien

Bodega throws a killer Day Of The Dead party from Nov 1-3 at both locations with Tequila tastings, sugar skull decorating, Fall harvest specials, Pig Roast & so much more1

Murphy’s Pub, Newtown

Murphy’s Pub hosts its annual Halloween Party on October 26.

Tiernan’s, Stamford

Why limit Halloween festivities to October?  Tiernan’s will celebrate with a Halloween Spectacular on November 2.

SolToro, Mohegan Sun

Leave the candy eating to kids – and instead make your way to SolToro for Connecticut’s spookiest, limited-edition cocktails in celebration of Halloween.  Try the Black Widow Smash (Fresh Blackberries, Agave, Lime & Rosemary), the Trick or Reese-tini (Reese’s infused tequila, Godiva white, Half & Half, Reese’s Pieces, Reese’s Cup), or The Devil’s Margarita (Exotico silver, Margarita mix, Cabernet, Luxardo Cherries).

El Segundo, Norwalk

On October 27, Tito’s Vodka and El Segundo are bringing Wag-O-Ween to SoNo! Bring your furry friends in their best costumes for the chance to win some great prizes for a great cause.  They’ll also be offering a Tito’s Drink Menu and Tito’s swag for dogs and dog owners.  Join them again on November 1 for a Dia de los Muertos party starting at 7pm.  They’ll be serving up our Late Night Menu with Margarita Specials, Jello Shots, and a Costume Contest.

The Spread, Norwalk & Greenwich

Come celebrate Halloween at The Spread with their annual costume party.  This year, join the Losers Club and embrace their “IT” themed party.  They’ll have drink specials, a costume contest, and more.  Norwalk takes place on October 31 while Greenwich takes its turn on Novemeber 1. 

L’escale, Greenwich

L’escale’s annual Halloween Soiree starts at 9pm on October 31 and lasts until the sun comes up!  A DJ will spin while guests enjoy hors’ doeuvres and drinks.  The best costume wins a Cylinder Vodka Moscow Mule gift basket.  Tickets are $20 per person.

Ambler Farm, Westport

On Friday October 25 or Saturday October 26, drop off kids in grades 3-5 for haunted activities, snacks, and storytelling at Ambler Farm.

The Upstairs at Mickey’s, Hamden

Dueling pianos meets Halloween in Hamden on November 1.  The Haunted Hollywood Halloween Costume Party runs from 7pm-2am and includes a Sing-a-long Dueling Piano Show, a Complimentary Light Eats Buffet, a Costume Contest with cash prizes, $3 Tito's Shots, $5 Tito's Mixed Drinks, $5 Spooky Shots, $8 Monster Martinis, and more.

Stew Leonard’s, Newington

Trick or Treat Stew Leonard’s style!  On Halloween day, Thursday, October 31, children who come to Stew Leonard’s Newington in their costumes will receive a free ice cream.

Stew Leonard’s, Norwalk

Trunk or Treat!!  Sign up and decorate your car in a spooky, wacky, or silly theme for the chance to win $250 to put toward a charity of your choice.  Check out the cars on October 27 from 6-8pm.  Participants can arrive between 5 and 5:30 to get started.

Vasis Taverna, Waterbury

The all new Vasis Taverna presents a Halloween party on Saturday October 26.  Not one but four DJs will make it a spook-tacular event.  No cover before 9pm and ladies free before 10pm.

The North House, Avon

They make have a creepy theme, but The Prisoner wines are also delicious!  On Wednesday October 30, The North House and Maximum Beverage invite you to kick off Halloween with a The Prisoner Wine Dinner from 7-10pm.

Hartford Halloween Crawl, Hartford

Crawl With Us, a group that organizes bar crawls and trivia nights in major cities across the country, hosts a Halloween Hartford Bar Crawl on October 26 from 4pm-12am.  Federal Café, Vaughan’s Public House, The Russell, and Pigs Eye Pub will all serve as venues for the scary fun event.  Admission includes 2 drinks, food and drink specials at select locations, professional photography, and more.

Killiam & Bassette Farm Stand, South Glastonbury

On Saturday October 26, attend a “spooky” farm dinner evening filled with farm fresh food, brews, , hayrides, and festive DJ music. They’ll have a pork slider station, potato bar, cole slaw and baked bean station, dessert, wine, beer, and more.  Dress in costume and get a shot at a prize for the best costume.  Adults only please.

J House, Greenwich

J House throws their annual Halloween bash on Friday November 1- this year with an Apocalypse theme!  Your ticket comes with a complimentary cocktail, hors d'oeuvres, a live DJ all night, and a Red Carpet Costume Contest with 3 Top Prizes.  Tickets are $75 per person and available online.

Beardsley Zoo, Bridgeport

On Sunday October 27 from 12-4pm, enjoy an afternoon of harvest hayrides ($2 per person) and crafts, story-time, and cool critters for younger guests.  If you're under 12, in costume, and are accompanied by one paying adult, you get in to the Zoo for FREE!

Fairview Farm, Shelton

Legends of Fear is a must visit Connecticut destination for Halloween.  Take a scary walk through the woods, embark on a haunted hayride, and so much more!  Choose from several dates and multiple ticket options.

Westport Museum, Westport

Westport is haunted??  Prepare to find out!  The Historical Society’s Halloween event is back on October 26 for its second year with spooky scenes and scary stories from Westport’s actual history. Play ghoulish games, purchase sinister souvenirs and take some petrifying photos before taking a guided tour through the haunted house.

Burr Homestead, Fairfield

The Enchanted Castle at the Burr Homestead has been bringing fun to Fairfield since 1991.  This year, the Castle is a family friendly event where kids and parents walk through the entire Burr Homestead together. Each room is decorated with a different “Fairy Tale” theme, including Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Pirates, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin. Besides awesome decorations kids will enjoy live characters in each room who will tell their stories.  The event is designed for children 2-10 years of age but will be sure to excite the whole family.

Scoops & Sprinkles, Rocky Hill

On Monday October 28, kids can decorate their very own personal mini ice cream cake with fun Halloween decorations from 6-7:30pm.  Tickets are $20, gluten free available.

Oak Haven Table & Bar, New Haven

Oak Haven Table & Bar invites you for an afternoon of pumpkin carving and Halloween themed cocktails.  They’ll give you your own personal pumpkin, craving tools, stencils, and two cocktail tokens.  Snacks will be provided and best pumpkin wins a prize.  Join them on Sunday October 27.

Washington Prime, Norwalk

Prima Con returns to SoNo this Halloween.  Visit Washington Prime on Friday, November in your best super hero, cos play, video game or villain's costume for the chance to win a $500 gift certificate.

Stamford Halloween Bar Crawl, Stamford

Hop bar to bar and party in Downtown Stamford.  On Saturday October 26, visit multiple venues in one day, with exclusive perks including beer specials, food specials, express entry, DJs, and no cover charges.

Check out a Dancing Queen Disco Halloween Party on Friday October 25 at Troupe429 in Norwalk.  Join the again on Saturday October 26 for the “Best Halloween Party Ever.” ALSO…they will be celebrating Dia de los Muertos on November 1st with custom Ofrenda, and free skull face painting from a pro drag queen artist!

Mad Murphy’s Café, Middletown

On Saturday October 26, get your costumes ready for Mad Murphy’s Halloween Bash.  Starting at 9:30, there party includes a costume contest and drink and shot specials all night long starting at 9:30pm.  And the best part?  No cover!

Fairfield Avenue Trick or Treat, Bridgeport

The first ever Fairfield Avenue Trick or Treat Stroll take place on Halloween night, October 31, from 5-8pm.  Business owners along the Avenue are opening their doors for all kinds of Halloween treats.

Shell & Bones Oyster Bar and Grill

Shell & Bones Oyster Bar and Grill will be hosting a Halloween Costume Party on Monday, October 28 beginning at 9pm.  The evening will include live music from Tim Palmieri and special guests, cocktail specials and a costume contest with prizes!  All guests who wear a costume will receive 5 clam tokens for their next visit!
