From Wednesday October 23 through Friday October 25, Norwalk Now presents CRUSH: A Celebration of Beer, Wine, and Spirits.  Norwalk restaurants and businesses are opening their doors for demonstrations, tastings, seminars, and other events inspired by these tasty adult beverages. 

Wednesday October 23 marks Brasitas’s first Wine Dinner of the season.  The five course meal will compliment wines from Napa Valley.  Tickets are $75 per person and space is limited. 

Get egg-cited… the Tasty Yolk storefront opens for business on Tuesday October 22!  Check them out at 2992 Fairfield Ave in Bridgeport.

Tuesday October 22 is Italian Wine Night at First & Last Tavern in Glastonbury.  From 6-8pm, snack on Assorted Marinated Olives, Mac & Cheese Bites, Chicken Meatballs a la Vodka, Polenta Cakes, Braised Short Rib, and Eggplant Sliders alongside tasty Italian wines.  It all goes to a great cause too.  The Breast Friend Fund helps combat breast cancer.  Tickets are $45 plus tax and gratuity. 

“MUSAR 'n Street Food, A POP-UP Dinner” comes to Hartford on October 24.  The Wise Old Dog will host acclaimed winemaker March Hochar at Hands On Hartford, located on Bartholomew Avenue.  The beautiful wines herald from the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon, which has been cultivated wines for at least 6,000 years.  Come experience some of the most age-worthy wines in the World alongside Mediterranean and Lebanese inspired street food.  Tickets start at $75 per person. 

Millstone Farm, in partnership with Geoff Lazlo Food, is pleased to announce the next in their Fall Farm to Fork Dinner Series will take place on Thursday, October 24.  Dinner begins with passed canapes, a seasonal fruit based cocktail with herbs from the farm and a farm tour. The three course dinner will include a plated appetizer, family style entree that features a wood oven roasted protein and two sides. A plated dessert will show off late summer stone fruit. Dinners are BYOB. This week, proceeds go toward Make A Wish Connecticut.

The Wilton Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present its Seventh Annual Fall Restaurant Week, which will run from Monday October 21 through Sunday October 27.  Participating restaurants will custom-design their own prix-fixe menus or offer other promotional specials.  Visit Craft 14 Kitchen + Bar, Little Pub, Milestone, Oak and Almond, and more. 

On Thursday October 24, L’escale hosts Far Niente Napa Valley Wine Estate for a wine dinner.  The meal includes five courses and wine pairings.  Tickets are $95 per person.  Call 203-661-4600 to reserve.

The Max Chef to Farm Season commences with a Vitner’s Dinner on October 24.  They’re partnering Crystal Ridge Winery in South Glastonbury to present an exclusive fall harvest dinner, featuring locally sourced cuisine and wines from the winery. With the best view of the Connecticut River Valley, the Wine House at Crystal Ridge Winery is the perfect setting for this dinner. 

Sadly, El Charrito Mexican Restaurant was robbed and the cash losses were significant.  “Now I am unable to cover payroll for my dedicated employees that work so hard and the rent for the business.  I am devastated. Recently due to financial difficulties I was forced to let my business insurance lapse. Therefore, I am unable to make a claim for this loss,” writes Alexandra Terron.  They have started a Go Fund Me page for those willing and able to contribute. 

Restaurateurs and husband and wife team of Dipika Behera and Jaiprakash Agarwal (JP) opened Vedas in Norwalk in 2015.  They just opened a second location in Westport!  “We are excited to be expanding our take-out and delivery service, reaching neighborhoods throughout Norwalk, Westport, and Fairfield, “says JP, “And while we are not a full-scale restaurant, both of our spaces offer some seating and guests are welcome to eat-in and BYOB.”

Crawl With Us, a group that organizes bar crawls and trivia nights in major cities across the country, hosts a Halloween Hartford Bar Crawl on October 26 from 4pm-12am.  Federal Café, Vaughan’s Public House, The Russell, and Pigs Eye Pub will all serve as venues for the scary fun event.  Admission includes 2 drinks, food and drink specials at select locations, professional photography, and more.

On Saturday October 26, attend a “spooky” farm dinner at Killiam & Bassette Farm Stand filled with farm fresh food, brews, , hayrides, and festive DJ music. They’ll have a pork slider station, potato bar, cole slaw and baked bean station, dessert, wine, beer, and more.  Dress in costume and get a shot at a prize for the best costume.  Adults only please.  

On October 27, Tito’s Vodka and El Segundo are bringing Wag-O-Ween to SoNo! Bring your furry friends in their best costumes for the chance to win some great prizes for a great cause.  They’ll also be offering a Tito’s Drink Menu and Tito’s swag for dogs and dog owners.

Tickets are now on sale for the 2020 season of Hummock Island Oyster Tours.  Options include individual presale tickets, a 10 person private oyster tour, and a season pass. 

Hoodoo Brown’s BBQ 101 Classes returns on Sunday October 27.  BBQ 101 is taught primarily by Cody Sperry, Hoodoo’s owner and pitmaster, with assistance from a few crew members including Nick Rivera.  Ribs, pulled pork, and brisket are all on the menu.
