Mystic Cheese Company and the Engine Room present A Cheese & Cocktail Pairing on May 23. Join Jason & Sylvia Sobocinski from Mystic Cheese Co. & Nick Georgetti, Beverage Director for The Engine Room, in Mystic CT as they pair their favorite cheeses alongside classic and original libations. It costs $45 per person and runs from 6-8:30pm.

On Wednesday May 22, learn how to make Memorial Day Picnic Dishes at Cook Shop Plus. The class is suitable for paleo and gluten free diets. It is $65 per person and feel free to BYOB.

Fiddlehead Food Co-op in New London, CT invites you to “Indigenous Edibles of Spring: Learn to Prepare Fiddlehead” on May 22. Rachel Sayet of the Mohegan Tribe will teach you to prepare fiddleheads, a wild Native vegetable that is only available for a few weeks out of the year. The event is free but registration is required.

On Thursday May 23 from 9:30am-11:30am, learn to make pasta at Tim’s Kitchen at Wakeman Town Farm. Chef Vita will teach you to make two springtime staples that you can replicate at home for your family. Prepare the pasta dough and fresh tomato sauce and top it with freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese from Italy. Sit down for an early bite at 11 and wrap up in time to get you out the door to tackle your to-do list.

The American Cancer Society hosts the 14th Annual Taste of Hope on Thursday, May 23rd, 2019 at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York. This years’ Volunteer Host Committee includes Alyssa Reiner, Danny Burstein, Harry Carson, David Alan Basche, Rebecca Luker, and Clarke Thorell. More than 70 restaurants are scheduled to participate. Attendees also will have the opportunity to bid on silent auction prizes donated.
