Nibble: Tasty CT Food Events For September 15-22

The 7th Annual Two Roads Ok2berfest takes place September 21 starting at 12pm.  In addition to the brewery’s own tasty drafts, there will be Authentic German music, German-style beers, food, games and more. 

Artisan West Hartford celebrates its 2nd Anniversary with a Havana Nights themed party on Wednesday September 18.  Executive Chef Frederic Kieffer will be showcasing Cuban-themed cuisine including: Cubanos with pulled pork and pickles, Ropa Vieja , and other appetizers.  In addition, unlimited Beer, Wine, Soda and Signature cocktails will be served.  Dressing up for the event is encouraged! 

Max Chef to Farm presents an Oktoberfest Dinner at Hanging Hills Brewery on Thursday September 19.  This collaboration will bring Chef Hunter Morton together with selections from one of Connecticut's most popular craft brewers, Hanging Hills Brewing Company.  Tickets are $79 inclusive and the event is limited to 70 seats. 

Match Restaurant in Norwalk is turning TWENTYCelebrate with them on Thursday September 19.  Party with complimentary bites and bubbles along with a cash bar for other specialty drinks. 

The Lodge at Crandall Park in Tolland hosts a Farm-to-Table dinner on Thursday September 19.  The four course meal (plus dessert!) includes fresh seasonal dishes along with beer and wine.  The 21+ event costs $100 per ticket. 

The 2nd Annual Borough Brewfest comes to Linden Park in Naugatuck on Saturday September 21 at 4pm.  Come down and enjoy delicious brews from over 50 craft breweries, largest wine selection for a brew fest, 10 food trucks, local restaurants, pig roast, and premium vendors. 

Greenwich Wine + Food Festival, located at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park in Greenwich, CT, is a multi-day event celebrating this area’s rich culinary landscape and showcasing innovation in the food and beverage industries.  This year’s festival includes special guests like Martha Stewart, Margaret and Geoffrey Zakarian, and Valerie Bertinelli.  Little Big Town headlines the musical entertainment.  This year’s proceeds will go toward Food Rescue US and Greenwich Parks & Recreation. 

On Friday September 20, join Chef Geoff Lazlo at Millstone Farm for a farm fresh dinner to benefit Trout Unlimited.  Begin the evening with a cocktail and passed canapes, as well as a tour of the farm.  The night continues with a 3 course meal based on based on what is being harvested at Millstone Farm that week and Trout and Salmon that has been caught in sustainable fisheries in North America.  Don’t forget to BYOB.  Tickets are $160 per person.   

Chef Billy Grant and his Chefs Corey Cannon of Bricco Trattoria and Jon Gyles of Bricco West Hartford invite you to join them for their Summer 2019 Farm Dinner series at Rose’s Berry Farm in South Glastonbury. Every Farm dinner features a creative menu with ingredients sourced from a multitude of CT farms and includes passed and stationed hors d’ oeuvres, a multi-course dinner, dessert, creative cocktails, craft beers, and vino.  The next one takes place on Friday September 20.  www.billygrant.com 

The Gathering arrives in Waterbury’s Liberty Park on Saturday September 21.  There will be music, food, and dance from around the world.  Admission is free with food and drink available for purchase inside.

Thrill of the Grill will take place is a culinary celebration of all things grilled.  This year, it takes place on September 21st at Short Lane Field at Weed Beach in Darien.  Food offerings will include custom beef sliders from Darien Butcher Shop, pulled pork and grilled chicken sliders from Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, grilled skewers and fish tacos from Valencia Luncheria, specialty grilled cheeses from The Cheese Truck, ice cream sandwiches from Four Flours, and a gorgeous spread of appetizers from Palmer's Market.  Proceeds go toward OPUS for Person-to-Person.

Trumbull Restaurant week kicks off on Sunday September 22 and continues through September 27.  Participants include Prime One Eleven, DrewBaQ, Bianco Rossa, and more. 

The Devon Rotary invites you to join the 30th Annual Milford Oktoberfest.  Last year’s festival was such a hit that they’ve expanded it to 2 days: Friday September 21 and Saturday September 22.  It all takes place at the Rotary Pavilion at Fowler Field behind the Milford Public Library.

Monday September 16 is National Guacamole Day!  In honor of the “holiday,” Geronimo Tequila Bar and Southwest Grill is offering a half-off Guacamole promotion.  Prepared tableside at both the Fairfield and New Haven locations, diners can opt to add lobster, roasted corn, or applewood smoked bacon to the guac.

The 14th Annual Newport Wine + Food Festival has added another event to its already full line-up.  The highly-regarded Vintner Dinner at Rosecliff will return on Saturday, September 21st, from 7-10pm.  The ‘Vive La France’ themed-evening will begin with Calvisius Caviar and Champagne on the terrace along with passed canapés.   An interactive three-course dinner will follow in the ballroom.  Each course will be paired with a fine wine from the French regions of Alsace, Burgundy, Rhône and Bordeaux.
