You still have time to partake in “Taste of the Suburbs” presented by CTNow.  Through September 29, participating restaurants will offer special multi-course, price-fixed tasting menus.  Visit hotspots like Millwrights, Bistro on Main, Carbone’s, and more. 

Every Wednesday from Sept 25 through November 13 a new chef will bring their culinary POV to Amis Trattoria in Westport in their new Guest Chef Pop-Up, where chefs create a menu of specials that fuses their style with the Italian flair of Amis.  On September 25, they welcome Robin Selden of Naked Fig Catering. 

Enjoy a Spanish Evening of Cheese and Wine at the Farmington Polo Grounds on Wednesday September 25.  Start the evening with a prosecco toast under the tent watching the polo game. Then, a professional cheesemonger will guide you through a selection of artisanal Spanish cheeses and pairings of locally made jams, pickles charcuterie... and of course, wine! 

The Westport Farmer’s Market’s Fork It Over Party in the Parking Lot goes down on Thursday September 26.  Partake in dinner, drinks, and music in a picturesque setting… and all to support the market.  This year, witness the Chef-at-the-Market finale! 

On September 26 from 5-9pm, Union Kitchen invites you to a Wurst Haus pop-up!  The pop-up at Union Kitchen will feature their most popular eats such as The Messy Magnus (beer braised pulled pork sandwiched between a warm apple fritter), The German Giant (Bratwurst, served in a pretzel bun with Haus sauerkraut), and the The Mighty Bavarian Pretzel:  As Big as Your Head (a warm soft pretzel served with honey mustard and beer cheese).  Guests can enjoy a 32oz. commemorative beer boot and Oktoberfest drafts.

This week, Stew Leonards Newington is teaching kids and toddlers “Amazing Apple Recipes.”  Tots can make homemade applesauce, cinnamon apple hand pies, and chocolate-dipped apple slices on Tuesday September 24, Friday September 27, and Saturday September 28.  Kids ages 6-12 can create  those and more on Thursday September 26.  Call 860-760-8100 for information and to reserve.

Erin Hedley of Darien Cheese Shop is coming to New Canaan Wine Merchants on September 26 for an evening of Italian Cheese and Wine.  She’ll present wine and cheese pairings to twelve people for an intimate, fun, and educational event.  $25 per person.  Please call 203-972-0100 to hold your spot.

Cousins Maine Lobster of Hartford and Nod Hill Brewery in Ridgefield are teaming up!  Stop by the brewery on September 26 from 4:30-8:30pm for the eatery’s famous lobster rolls and more. 

Get ready for some delicious Greek cuisine!  The annual Greek Fest at the Church of the Archangels in Stamford will take place rain or shine on Thursday September 26 through Sunday September 29.  In addition to Greek fare that includes souvlaki, pastitsio, moussaka, lamb, spanakopita, lemon roasted, and a variety of homemade Greek pastries, this year’s event includes a variety of vendors and many carnival rides and games for the young and young at heart.  Admission is free with food and activities available for purchase inside.  www.stamfordgreekfest.com.  

The final edition of Artisan West Hartford’s Garden Parties will take place on Thursday September 26.  Enjoy rose, craft cocktails, light bites, and music on the patio.  Tickets are $25 per person and include light bites and 2 drink tickets. 

Guilford Mooring will be hosting a Dueling Piano Show & Dinner on Friday, September 27.  Doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm prix-fixe dinner and 8:30pm show.  Featuring two of the top piano entertainers, the all-request, rock-and-roll party lets the guests pick the music playlist, mixed in with comedy.  Singing and dancing along is encouraged!  The four-course menu includes choice of appetizer, soup or salad, entrée’ and dessert.  Tickets are $60 per person (excluding tax and gratuity).  Reserve your space by calling 203.458.2921.

SBC invites you to their version of Oktoberfest from now through October 2.  They have a special menu full of dishes inspired by the season.

Oktoberfest in the Park, presented by Half Full Brewery, returns to Stamford on September 27 & 28.  Festivities include food trucks, a Pop-Up Beer Garden, and Live Music from a variety of local and regional acts. The festival is held in support of the Mill River Park Collaborative and takes place on The North Lawn & Grand Steps in Mill River Park in downtown Stamford. 

Rothbard Ale + Larder in Westport hosts its annual Oktoberfest party on September 28 at 1pm.  They’ll be serving authentic German beers, wines, and dishes.  Live music featuring Symphonic Bodega at 2pm and the Pocket Hotties starts at 7pm.

On Sunday September 29, join Bistro on Main for Edible Eats, a farm to table multi-course celebration of the season.  Dine on 6 courses for $85 per person. 

HooDoo Brown now offers a BBQ 101 class!  BBQ 101 is taught primarily by Cody Sperry, Hoodoo’s owner and pitmaster, with assistance from a few crew members including Nick Rivera.  Watched the Hoodoo crew demo how to properly trim each cut…then get in there and do it yourself!  After you learn how to pull pork, separate ribs, and expertly slice juicy brisket, partake in a meat lover’s feast.  The next class takes place on September 29.

If you love oysters, listen up!  Oyster Club in Mystic hosts “Oyster Feed,” an oyster feast for the ages, on Sunday September 29.  They’s have live music by The Quahogs, local oysters and clams, house made Grass & Bone sausages, Stone Acres Farm veggies, and craft beer and wine!  $50 plus tax & gratuity includes all you can eat oysters and other small plates. Cocktails, beer and wine will be available for purchase. 

Hamilton Park, located in The Blake Hotel in Downtown New Haven, has launched a new Sunday Jazz Brunch and weekday lunch service.  Sunday Brunch, available from 11am – 2pm, includes dishes like Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Crab Melt, and Smoked Salmon Toast .  The new weekday lunch service is offered Tuesday through Friday from 11:30am to 2pm.
