Fight Childhood Hunger May 7th at Sunset Wine Party Event for Filling In The Blanks

On May 7th, come sip, explore, shop and socialize at an exclusive, local event to benefit Filling In the Blanks. Sunset Wine Party is hosting this inaugural New Canaan event: a festive, upscale wine tasting evening at the Country Club of New Canaan on May 7th, 2023. All net proceeds benefit Filling in the Blanks, a celebrated local non-profit which supports area children experiencing hunger by providing them with meals on the weekends.

In just 3 weeks, this spring event will offer ticketed guests an opportunity to learn about and taste an amazing selection of over 35 wines at the BMW of Darien Grand Wine Tasting Room, all curated by well-known local proprietor, DB Fine Wines. Additionally, a Wines by the Glass Bar will offer full glasses of red, white or rosé. Knowledgeable wine experts will be on hand to tell the stories and subtleties behind each bottle of the various wine selections poured throughout the night.

Guests may also indulge in decadent, gourmet bites sponsored by The Chef’s Warehouse and crafted by Odeen’s Catering Company, and enjoy great DJ music. Those who opt to purchase full bottles at DB Fine Wine’s Order Table can have them delivered right to their home after the event.

Exclusive, limited tickets to the inaugural New Canaan event are available now. General Admission is $70 per ticket ($85 at the door). All Access Passes allow guests to arrive an hour early at 5 p.m., to explore all wines before the crowd comes in as well as an exclusive check-in line. All Access Admission tickets are $95 per person ($110 at the door).

About Filling in the Blanks

Filling in the Blanks was founded by mothers and community activists, Shawnee Knight and Tina Kramer, who created the nonprofit as a way to marry their love of community, children, food, and charity. The successful non-profit provides weekend meals to children in need who are eligible for the free or reduced lunch program. It also supports the A.L.I.C.E. population. (ALICE represents the men and women in Connecticut’s households of all ages and races who get up each day to go to work, but who aren’t sure if they’ll be able to make ends meet. ALICE is our co-workers, friends, and neighbors. ALICE does essential work that we depend on, and contributes to our community’s well-being.) Filling in the Blanks’ meal support is available throughout the year, including the summer months.

Kramer and Knight created Filling in the Blanks in 2013, and it has now expanded to serve over 100 sites throughout Fairfield and Westchester Counties and has delivered over TWO MILLION weekend meals to children in low-income households.
