Day Tripping: Kingdom of the Hawk—A Fresh Take on the CT Wine Scene

CTbites Team

To that end, wine is offered by the glass and bottle, and cheese and charcuterie are often (but not always) available for purchase alongside your vino. That said, food trucks find their way on property regularly, and the Connerys even host raw bars (including oyster shucking classes) provided by the likes of J & R Seafood and Ninigret Nectars. All that being said, there are a fair amount of “picnickers” who grace the property, toting favorites from home to pair perfectly with their favorite glass of zesty 2021 Sauvignon Blanc or KOH’s unoaked 2021 Chardonnay.

As soon as you enter the front doors, your eyes are immediately drawn up to the wood-paneled, beamed ceilings anchored by floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase the incredible views. The concrete floors and minimalist lighting scheme allow for the cozy indoor space to be transformative from event to event based on the wishes of the hosts. Black leather furniture graces the hearth of the fireplace. Inviting one and all to take a seat and sip. Simultaneously, on the outside, the fresh forest air can be enjoyed on the expansive deck and throughout the adirondack dabbled property.

The Connerys, in a seemingly effortless fashion, have truly thought of everything to help this vineyard live up to its name. So, straighten your crowns, you have an entire Kingdom to explore.
