Jesup Hall Introduces “Splendid Table” On (Select) Wednesdays

Some days are more splendid than others. That rings true at Jesup Hall where Bill Taibe presents an all-you-can-eat special that goes down on select Wednesdays, both inside at the restaurant’s communal table and outside on the patio.

Dubbed “Splendid Table,” the event started out in early June as a veggie-only smorgasbord for $25 per person. Because it generally takes place during Jesup Hall’s “Happy Time,” guests are able to take advantage of a beverage menu of six different sprit & soda cocktails for $6 each, select $4 beers, $5 glasses of wine, and half price bottles of wine. 

Splendid Table did see a brief evolution in July, however. 

Along with a vast array of fresh, bright vegetable dishes, salads, and creamy hummus with toasted pumpkin seeds that’s to die for, there have been special guests. For two weeks straight, Taibe’s friends from Fortina, Christian Petroni and Jared George Falco joined the mix. In tow was their mobile Marra Forni oven to churn out thin-and-crispy wood-fired pizza. 

Some of the pies churned out by the Taibe – Fortina team were red and white clam, classic margherita, burrata, sausage with cherry peppers, and they even experimented later in the evening with a thinner, crunchier pie with garlic, Calabrian chili oil, and edible flowers. 

The continuity of Splendid Table will be a spontaneous one. Taibe mentioned that Jesup Hall will not do this every week. Guests should also be aware that the price point may vary. When it was veggies only, it was $25 but it increased to $45 when Fortina popped-up. Still, that’s solid for two hours of nonstop ‘za and creative vegetable dishes. 

Your best bet is to follow along on Instagram for a Splendid Table announcement. After that, just show up when it starts or make a reservation. You’d be wise to come hungry.
